  • its been fairly warm and sunny here in sheffield today, but ive noticed the house is much cooler now the sun doesnt shine directly into the house :(

wont be putting the heating on yet until it gets hat/scarf/gloves weather ... my other half is a human hot water bottle so we all just snuggle up to him on the sofa if its chilly in the evening. ive also been to primark and bought a couple of those £5 fleece throws ... lovely!!

  • Off here!

We're really lucky here - we moved in Feb and don't think we've had it on since we moved and that was just to warm the house. The house seems to be well insulated, but we haven't had very cold weather here yet. Cross fingers!

After a cold start it warmed up a bit and have managed to get the washing dry. No CH to put on, till the work is done, will hold off putting the gas fire on, a warm bath will warm us up nicely.

ps Just looked at weather forecast and no snow for West Yorkshire - just going to get wet and windy.

Off here and it's not going on until 1st November at least! (Fortunately I'm away with work for the last week in October so will be staying in overheated hotels)

It's chilly in the mornings but it's fine once you've got a cup of tea inside you.

Also, our boiler runs off Calor gas cylinders. It concentrates the mind wonderfully when your gas supply arrives on the back of a lorry - I'm paranoid about running out!

had to give in and put the heating on for 2 hours this afternoon, have been wearing a cardigan and carting a hot-water bottle around for the past few days, but this afternoon there was no avoiding my nose dripping, so on it went.

have a feeling it will need to be on for a while this evening too

Heating still off:D and still have the 4.5 tog summer duvet on the bed & window open all night so hoping it'll stay off for a while yet - will be delighted if I can last past 1st Nov;)

Hoping we don't get any -19 deg days this winter .... brrrrrrrr

Off - but had to have it on a couple of times in September. It comes to something when October weather is better than August!

It's OFF and likely to stay off. I had the conservatory doors open into the house to rob some of the heat again today. Temperature inside the house at present is 20 degrees so happy with that.

Next week will be a different story however, just checked on the BBC weather online and the daytime temps leave allot to be desired, so I can say as of tomorrow the heating will most likely be back on.

  • off! No use of heating or tumble drier yet this season, i love my slanket though and real feather duvet makes all the difference (window open at night). My visiting sister did make her point of being cold by keeping her coat on today, but the thermometer said 18, so I can't feel so bad..
