Mine's still off and I have windows open this morning - it's chilly but I like the fresh air.

I'm off to house sit for my parents tomorrow for a week - so if I use any heating there I won't be paying for it :rotfl:(Theirs is bound to be on already, Mum feels the cold. In fact she probably hasn't actually switched it off :D)

Hey Welshwoofer, there was a time many moons ago that I used to be out Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Thursday night was a killer because I had to be in work on the Friday so after a while I knocked that on the head then gradually I just developed into the dressing gown and slipper mode.

Now you are lucky to find me up after 11.30pm and on work nights it's lights off after 10.30pm :rotfl:

I never thought I would say this but I am officially and fully paid up and signed up member to the old farts club :rotfl:

Don't worry, I'm also in the Old Farts Club - and I'm happy about it! Even when I was young I couldn't stand discos/pubs/clubs and preferred staying in with a book, or going out to the theatre.

    Morning

Heating off here, but couldn't put the CH on if I wanted to, we are having some work done on the house and several radiators have been taken off the walls. We do have a gas fire in the living room and an oil fired radiator if we need it but so far havent.

All the windows are open now, it's lovely and sunny with a beautiful blue sky, the windows were running with condensation this morning despite the bedroom window being left open quite wide last night. Washing on the line so hopefully hold off putting the TD on.

I was up in the night with baby and could really feel the drop in temperature. Was a very clear sky as well last night. Also felt rather chilly this morning when we all got up (7am) but wasnt too bad once the sun came out and warmed the lounge up. Made sure the kiddies were all dressed and had their socks on!

Lol another one for the old farts club here. I dont have the energy after working part-time and looking after 3 kiddies to go out and like nothing more than being in my PJs especially now the nights are getting darker so much earlier!

  • Can I join the old farts club too? I struggle to stay awake much after 10 and find it really difficult when we have people to stay and have to stay up late. Mind you even as a teenager I was an early bird and couldn't handle late nights so I haven't really changed.

  • Had a letter yesterday from my electric supplier telling me that my direct debit would be going up from £ 36 per month to £49  !!!. I had already had this same conversation with them back in July when they wanted to put it up to £ 42. I had a very forceful girl telling that the electric prices were going up if I didn't do it I would be behind and would then end up owing them money.

I told her that as they owed me money and they had refunded £50 in March that was unlikely to happen. So I stuck to my guns and it stayed the same, until yesterday.

I rang them again, told them I was very unimpressed, spoke to a very nice lady who went back and checked my last bills, and took note of my change of circumstances - now have gas central heating not electric storage heaters, all of which I told the last girl and told me I should be paying £ 30 a month !!!

So the direct debit is down to £ 30 - what a result. :) But how many people has this happened to, or who feel unable to query what is written down. Hope this helps someone to feel able to fight their corner. Better the money in our pocket than there's.
  • still off here.:j

My bedroom has the window open all the time and it's never closed so when I go to bed the room is freezing and the sheet and duvet are cold. Just how I like it :D

    Still OFF! here :p

It was blooming freezing here last night though. I checked the temp just after midnight and it was down to 4 degrees outside

I`m another truly paid up member of the old farts club :D

On work nights i`m in bed before 11 and when i get really tired by 9pm, i start a run of early shifts soon and have to be up by quarter to four in the mornings. Its not good walking the woofaloes at that time as its usually the coldest. I don`t mind too much but when its raining as well as dark and freezing its not nice.

I have just bought two more packs of tealights today to add to the stock in the cupboard, i love the extra warmth and the homely glow that they give out. I think that we will be using some every night from now on.

LilyMae - Our DD has just been put up from £63 to £79 by Scottish power, its not long since that it went up to £63 from £58 and we are well over £200 in credit
Normally i would be on the phone to them but our 12 months is up at the end of this month and i`ll be switching us over to OVO as they are the cheapest for us now. I like to be in credit but this is ridiculous.
When we switch OVO will pay us 3% interest on any credit that they hold so i`m quite looking forward to that :D

The windows were wet through this morning with condensation but they are bone dry now, its lovely and sunny outside now and the outdoor temp is 11 degrees - bet that doesn`t last long lol, think i`ll be running the dehumidifier tonight.

    Keep snuggly peeps.
