The morning started off well and we put the washing out. Then it turned to rain, then heavy rain! The washing is still out (dashing between 2 football matches and 2 rugby today) but the weather has turned for the better and it is now sunshining. Windows open (all day) and washing now blowing and drying. It feels pleasantly warm - no heating needed. Each day that I can manage to get my washing dry and keep the heating off is a bonus. If we make it till the end of next month I will be pleased.

OFF its very warm here and due to get hotter! hurray!
  • OFF here & I'm hoping to keep it that way for a few more weeks yet...certainly until mid-Oct later than that if I can manage it!
  • Off and my windows are wide open!

I never have the radiators on in my bedroom and always have the window open at least a little bit even if it is snowing.

It is sunny outside and I am knitting a scarf! Beginners wool as I am just starting to learn.

Off for me too - I am trying to hold off until mid-October this year. Lovely day today, but it has been oh so cold recently! Fire has been on only once though. Wearing more layers instead :-)

My boiler has been out of action since late spring and finally had it fixed today. It was lovely to feel the radiators warm up and then I promptly switched it off again! Having been shivering for the past couple of weeks it's now all warm and sunny, and it's 15C indoors today (up from 11) without the boiler.

It's miserable here today - been pouring most of the afternoon - but surprisingly not cold. It's over 15c outside even now the sun has disappeared, and it's nearly 21c in here so another day when we haven't had to use the CH :T

I've been in the kitchen all day cooking - apart from tonight's dinner, which the family are now tucking into - I made some Twinks, a ginger cake, 4 loaves of bread and some oaty apple bars which I decided to try making for the first time today. I'll not be bothering again.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Off :)

    Washing dried, windows open.

I feel hopeful about the suggestted heatwave, but also remember that it was warm very early after a very cold winter, so I'm wondering if the switch the other way can be as rapid...which could still mean an early onset of very cold weather.

I'll be making the most of the good weather washing everything that I possibly can and throwing all the windows open while we still can without being cold, instead of leaving windows open in rooms which you then close the door on to stop heat escaping and cold invading. :)

I'm also going to rearrange some furniture tomorrow for the winter. I'm pushing the kitchen table from the centre to the side of the room, so that I can have dog beds on the floor (I don't like the dogs in the kitchen but its going to be the easiest room to keep warm and keep clean this winter.)
