well ive had mine on today for most of the day. Im in kent and snowed in  the schools are shut and prob will be tomorrow as well. I turned mine off for a couple of hours when i ventured out on foot to the supermarket but it soon went back on when we got home, in the living room it was 13 c:eek:, now if it was just me i would not have turned it on till at least 4 oclock but with the kids being home the house has to be warm. I switched it off about 6.45.I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0

Wouldn't want to go back to those days. The part that upset me most was when the children got chapped hands and faces IN the house!
Did you sleep on the front room floor, all snuggled up together in front of the fire, as well?
Yea we did in the winter, it was too cold to go upstairs.:eek:0 -

Now clearly that WILL be the case with some folks but I think I would get rid of other things first before heating. So, is everyone here just so badly off that they can't heat their house? Or is this some sort of strange competition going on?
I hear what your saying but i have cut everything i can to the bone,i would rather cut down on heating than lose my home.We have worked hard for this house and hopfully this bad spell of luck will pass .I have started putting heating on for short spells and because OH was ill,i hate being cold but i'm luckly to have super insulated house so i'm not as bad off as some.Hope all those who are struggling are ok .0 -

It is really quite horrific to see this huge thread with so many really struggling so much that heating can't go on. I talked to somebody the other day who used her winter fuel allowance to buy a coat. Perhaps its time to not give out an automatic fuel allowance to over 60s and give it to others who really need it. Everyone should at least be able to heat one room in the house especially with temps below zero.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

How can you use only 16 a day? Are my kWh different from yours? I don't understand my bills.
This is mine for October.
I think yours is probably 'normal' usage for winter, 70kwh a day? Most people I spoke to were impressed with my 30! Sylvan has amazing consumption figures I think!Mortgage£148,725 Student loan£13,050 HSBC loan£12,221

Oops. Dyslexia strikes again! I've just checked and discovered my eye had slipped to the next column along. Those were my CO2 figures.
It should have been 40, 62 and 79. I've corrected my original post.
Thanks for noticing that. :T
EDIT: We used 894 in October. That's almost 29 per day.Time flies like an arrow.
