Oh my heating is well and truly on!
I must confess to being quite worried about a few folk on the forum who have no heating for various reasons.
I think it's getting to dangerous temperatures now.0 -
The room temperature to avoid the risk of hypothermia/ stroke/ heart attack should be 16C.
Ideal room temperature is 21C.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
It is getting too cold now. I am very much struggling to pay and I'm not trying to preach or be a hero. Please put your heating on.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
I'm not for companies not making a profit but didn't I read that some energy companies had their profits rise by 38% last year, yet are still going to raise their prices. That seems like profiteering (not sure if that's in the right context, but you get my drift).0

I envy all of you who are all cozy under blankets in bed. I'm at work my uniforms short sleeves and the windows don't shut properly in our department I'm freezing. Oh well only another 6 hours and I get to go home and get under nice warm covers and sleep the day away. I swear the nhs is trying to free up beds by creating hypothermia.0

Just in my bathrooms 11c, my bedroom that has had an oil heater on timer for two hours before i get in is 12.8c my poor cats it's a good thing they have fur. I don't have central heating so I think I'll leave the oil heater in the bedroom on low over today or I'll never sleep well. I've got to work again tonight.0 -
hi all
my bedroom got to 13 last night, i was ok in bed under duvet and electric blanket. is it too cold to be healthy? heating came on at 6am, mind you its still only upto 14 in here now
i leave the dial set on 15 and as its a cold house it clicks on through out the day now and goes off for the night at 7pm
im a single mum off long term sick so worried about paying so switch it off often
sons much smaller room stays at around 16 at night0 -
My bedroom heating is off at night and the window open - as long as you are warm in bed you dont need heating on in the bedroom - just during the day to take the chill off it. I dont have an electric blanket either - a hot water bottle if its really chilly instead - was minus 4.3 last night and we have about 18 inches of snow but it feels much warmer than that. The heating is set at 21 degrees and is not really too hot - rather it on now and off when not cold! You need to keep the house warm!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

I don't ever put the heating on in my bedroom. Up until last week I was sleeping with the window open if it was mild enough - not doing it just now though! I do put it on in the kids rooms during the day, but not overnight either. I have a thicker duvet than they do.
Last night my daughter slept with my (big, fleecy) dressing gown on, and a fleecy blanket on top of her duvet. She refuses to sleep in socks though. I've offered to buy her fluffy bedsocks but says she hates the feeling of socks on in her bed.
