It was sunny today, so managed to just have the wall heater on in one room. Put all the heating on tonight though as it's bitter cold. -2 at the moment.

Six more weeks then little by little it starts to get lighter again.
    YAY!

That keeps me going too bluebag - I start my countdown to longer days in July..! somehow seems easier to bear whatever weather is thrown at us when we at least have daylight..

Mine's on for an hour in the evenings now, and I'm treating myself to an hour this morning too, as I haven't time for the usual exercise routine which I rely on for warming up. Does feel like absolute decadence though..

    Cheers

Mine had to go on yesterday evening ,my ds brought his children home with him for tea which he forgot to tell me about:)not that i mind them coming.Anyway i put heat on for them it was so nice that when he took them home i left it on low.The timer switched it off at 9.30,it came on again this morning silly me forgot to turn the room stat back to zero. The sun is trying to shine now i'm hoping it will start coming through the windows to keep it warm.

The weather has got really cold here now,i was hoping to last out till dec.Last year when it got really cold the heat was on first thing in morning then in evening on very low, during the day OH was out at work and i would mostly be in bed (work nights)on days off i would wrap myself up.The prob this year is OH is working for hisself and has his office in conservertory it's freezing :eek:in there,he's going to need heat on this really worries me we need to keep the bills down.Moneys short what with him just starting on his own and i know somtime next year proberly march april i'm going to lose my job ( not been told anything offically but know its coming). When i'm not on nights anymore he can work in spare bedroom but that will be to late for this winter.Have been looking on preparing for winter board for tips but a conservertory being all glass is not easy.

Got to keep reminding myself i have already saved a lot on heating
sorry for going on i've got my worry head on this morning.

Bbbrrrrrr cold here today and very very foggy, I haven't got to put any heating on:), as my neighbour has something wrong with her heating system and even when its off it is pumping out the heat:eek: so her house is like a furnace but the heat is passing through to my house and it is lovely and cozy :)and best of all free:D.I feel sorry for them really ,they keep popping into mine to cool down :rotfl:and their heating people are not coming out until tomorrow:eek: so free heating for another 24hrs :) but will make them a nice cake of somekind as i got a "freebie" from them , oh I do love my neighbours:D

I bought a couple of basic thermometers from ebay for £2.50 delievered. They seem to work well.

The thermometer just dropped to 9C but still no heating. Partly because I don't feel the need, partly because the storage heater in my room doesn't work properly.
I sleep with BF downstairs, I swear his room is so much warmer because the only external surface is a floor to ceiling strip the width of the window! I've started doing a quick bit of yoga in the mornings to warm up and relax, works a treat.

You know, its one of the things I do find really hard in the cold. I'm stiffer and seem to tighten up and find everything sore and inflexible before starting, and during, and in fact sometimes stiffen mid stretch. For me its a heating on activity and so not happening all that much. It does make one feel better though normally, I agree:o

i was going to try and skip having the heaters on last night but luckily i checked a few of my weather sights first. having storage heaters i have to plan ahead!

it was -2 when i checked and if we're lucky we'll get up to 5C today... so i just put on the one on the hall for about 4 hours...

thankfully my neighbours seem to be jacking their heating up high so while i have been using my heat some i haven't had keep them on for long or up very high.

i just had to answer the door for the postie BRRRRRRRRRRRRR i think it will be a wheat bag and coffee morning to take the edge off

I have the heating on timed for about 1/2 an hour in the morning to take chill off when we get up, then it comes back on twice in evening for 2 separate periods of an hour. Despite this, our clothing, bedding etc still feel damp. Have to watch the pennies but t is freezing in here and averages around 10-12 degrees when the heating isn't on so it is quite chilly.
