This happened with ours.
Sometimes the pin sticks under the dial, you need to release that slightly.
You know the dial on the radiator that you adjust for the temp, look closely and there is a silver bit just below the dial. You need to unscrew that and the temp dial will lift off.
You will see a little brass pin thing which will probably have become stuck down.
My husband got a flat head screwdriver and just pushed this pin slightly and it lifted up a bit, sometimes they pop up.
Be gentle though as you don't want it to come out, just push it in gently from the side and try to lift it up gently. Once it has risen just put your temp dial back on and screw that silver bit back on.
This happened with all of ours and they are working fine again now.
We do have central heating cover but I found how to do this on the net and is saved getting the engineer out.
When this happened last year we did get the engineer out and he said if it happens again give it a tap with a mallett. Stuff that!
Hope this help.
Here you go, I found a link to something like the one that I found before

Exactly!
My other half can put a plug on and that is it.
Luckily I had the gumption to have a google and find out how to do it!0 -
Off, wouldn't start to think about putting it on even for odd days before Mid November, first move will be to switch to long sleeved shirts which probably wont be far off now.0

Many thanks sb44, the help and advice you get on here is second to none, its nice to know that in these difficult times there is always someone there to give a helping hand, I will go and see what I can do,... and it also lets others see that us women can turn our hand to anything to save some money if the need arises.

I did see somewhere too that once you have done that and the pin has come up, if the heat doesn't come through to that radiator turn off your heating at the control leave it for a minute and then turn it on again.
Ours wasn't going to the bathroom one, I turned the heating off at the wall in the kitchen and on again and the bathroom radiator started working again.
I must remember not to turn all of the radiators to the zero position in the spring so I won't have to go through this lot again.0 -
Just putting on for hour in the morning, OH got cold couple nights ago, so put the heating on, I woke up boiling. Words including extra blanket and also more choice ones were used. We have a new boiler this year as the old one was terrible, we were lucky enough to get the 400 grant as old one was a G rated one .0
