as my granddaughter had sleepover saturday night i took it as a valid reason to check our system is working it seems ok except the pressure gauge a bit low need to get them out if it goes lower than the green line it's off now but i don't think we will be able to keep it off til 1st nov as i had planned so it will stay off as long as possible and when on for as short a time as poss hopefully evening and morning for no more than an hour each and i will check temp in and out before it goes on and read the gas and electric meters not sure how much electric it will use yet and will used reading from gas to create time=money plan so it won't go on if we can't pay for it don't want a high bill my electric high enough still paying an old bill but the gas i'm in credit til november bill then not so sure what will be left so the less i use it now the better cos it will only get colder now so the longer we can manage without or very little the better it wil be when temp drops very low so for now slippers dressing gowns thick socks fleece tops fleece blankets and a hot water bottle to warm the bed and need to check the quilts not sure what tog on beds atm might need to swap them or add another on top thermals need finding too that will keep heating off a bit longer i hope also thermal curtains still need to go up over doors will be end of oct for them need rail and my handy man2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0

Mine is off atm, i did put it on for 20 mins last night to bring the temperature up to 16 degrees though, it seemed to drop quickly last night and i think that the wind had something to do with it. Its still windy now but inside the temp is 16 and outside is 11 degrees although it does feel much colder.
When i asked DH to turn it off again last night he did say that we might as well leave it on now but when i reminded him how much it cost he couldn`t get up quick enough
Colder weather forecast later this week

Cant believe ours is still off. It was freezing last night as well. Kids still not noticing, ds1 came out of school today and took his coat off!!!!
Just did our meter readings for the bill and its down on last year but our dd has still been put up by £10 a month even though we are using less than their predicted amount which is what the dd was originally set up on!!!! But I suppose it gives us that extra over winter just in case it does have to be on more.0 -
I've given up gracefully. It's going to be on for some time every day now. I'm trying to keep it to an hour in the morning and another couple of hours in the evening. One of my cats has her nose wedged up against the radiator - it's time!
;)
But I'm still using the summer weight duvet and not feeling cold overnight, despite that.Keep on doing what you're doing, and you'll keep on getting what you've got. :A0 -
