    Mine's off. Been off about a week.:j:j

I spent a lot of time in my living room and the computer provides a bit of background heat. :rotfl::rotfl:

ours is still on. it is an hour in morning ( although been more like half hour as been over riding boiler to turn it off as been too warm) and an hour in evenings, around kids bath times as my 2 year old does seem to get quite shivery when comes out of bath. wanna keep my lil babies warm.
  • Off. I'm hoping that's it till October or November.
  • Turned mine off a few days ago - hopefully won't go back on until about October

Its on for a couple hours in the morning (with the hot water) but its turned down to under 15 degrees on the thermostat so won't kick in unless it gets cold.

I've even got away with having windows open in the living room recently LOL - DH normally moans like mad if its slightly cold so it must have warmed up!
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

On for a few hours in the morning and after about 7 at night till bedtime. OH isn't well so I have to keep him warm, the bill won't be very well either, but what can you do? Hoping for a nice warm summer, after the winter we've just had is that too much to ask?

  • I agree, roll on a lovely warm summer!

I switched off CH when clocks went forward and I've been ok. I live on my own with sons/partners/grandchildren visiting occasionally so I will only switch on when I have visitors until about end of October. I've become a tough old bird.

I find that I can get by with the occasional use of a wheat bag. I've just come in from a night shift and when I've wound down a little I will use my wheat bag to warm up my bed and then cuddle in with it and go to sleep for a few hours. My kitchen thermometer shows it is 12.5 degrees but if I find it really cold I can sit on the computer or watch tv with my wheatbag on top of my clothes and under my fleece. I get a certain sense of satisfaction keeping the utility company profits to a minimum.

I turned our heating off on 31 March and apart from a few 1hour boosts that is how it has stayed.

Dh thinks it is still coming on morning and night lol!

We haven't used the coal fire either since 31 March; but I am still buying the coal once a fortnight so as to get the bunker filled ready for next winter. Thought this would be prudent as have the cash available.
