Definitely warm here in South London, am drying my first outdoor laundry load of the season on the washing line in the garden!
same here Cat put my first loads of the year outside yesterday - ok a few heaver things ie the cuffs werent quite dry but so much better then the chineese laundry my bathroom been looking like LOL0 -
I have been line drying laundry outside throughout on dry days, yesterday even got jeans dried and aired on the line. Alot depends on work times I know, I work 11.30 - 2.00 so am usually ok.
This morning we had a sharp frost following -5 at approx midnight.
Our heating comes on 6.00 - 6.30 am and then again 7.00 -7.30pm, mainly for the bedrooms, the radiators hold their heat for a good hour after it goes off; we also have an open fire which we light, this probably gets lit approx 4pm unless very cold during the day.
We have fleece blankets on the sofas and the boys have some in their bedrooms for use rather than putting the heating on.
I have been monitoring my electricity usage weekly and have in January asked for a decrease on my dd of £25 p/m and I figure will still be £100 in cr at the anniversary bill end of March.
We actually have oil ch but last year it wasn't working so had to resort to using electric fan heaters with the coal fire, which is why the dd went sky high, oil ch is now fixed and working properly hence the cr on the electricity bill.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

Just turned the heating on for a couple hours. Thermostat in the hall is set at 20c.Put my furry boots and a scarf on to try and keep warm:).
Another frosty start to the morning saw me scraping the windscreen at 4.45:(. It started to get light from 6.30 this morning. Sunny here again today!Less is more0 -
My heating's off at present but that's only because I'm in work (sorry, the office.) Will be on in time for getting home, nice and toasty. It is getting warmer though, 7/8 degrees outside today, the sun is out and not a cloud in the sky. Nearly tempted to take the afternoon off, but will try and resist! Hope all are well.0

Lovely spring-y day today - it was 12.6c earlier. It's coming down a bit now, but I have got the washing out. Apparently it's forecast snow later in the week.0

That's positively balmy!
I remember watching Joanna Lumley on her northern lights programme, and she arrived somewhere in the Arctic Circle. It was -60 and she said it was like breathing in knives. Local children were running round in t-shirts! :eek:0 -

No way that I would be able to manage with no heat from now until November. Good luck though, and I have to say I'm already jealous of the money you won't be spending on your gas bill
And could not do it without my trusty hot water bottle in the bed at night!
Sorry for the people living with the penguins (Mardatha, you hear me?) of course in those circumstances I would not dream to switch off!
Just to make it clear - I have said from the beginning that this is my personal challenge, not a case of self-sacrificing one-upmanship! Each of us has their individual reason for having their heating on or off.
Love, peace, rolll on spring! xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Absolutely - where's the sense in suffering? I find if I'm cold I can't do much else except huddle up and try to keep warm - I'm far more productive if the ambient temperature is comfortable. I just wish the house wasn't so flippin' draughty.0
