Mine did that over the winter but on the plus it saved me a fortune in gas!

Mine isn't on today as it's so sunny in the front of the house it's like a greenhouse!

I've turned mine off at the moment as it's quite warm, but the outside temperature is dropping so it will probably go back on again later. I can definitely feel spring in the air though which always makes me feel happier :)

Hello everyone, it has been quite warm indoors today. I even opened the conservatory doors to let the warm air filter into the house.
It is nearly 5pm now and it is still light outside so Spring must be on its way. The coal fire is still not lit, I am going into the kitchen in a minute so the cooker will be on for a wile. Maybe we can last out today untill the CH kicks in at 6pm - 9pm.:)
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

Definitely warm here in South London, am drying my first outdoor laundry load of the season on the washing line in the garden!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Been able to dry outside for the last 4 days:). Think it may have been warmer outside than in this afternoon! Had the heating on from 2 to 4 to take the chill off!

Caterina, I think you are mad :p No way that I would be able to manage with no heat from now until November. Good luck though, and I have to say I'm already jealous of the money you won't be spending on your gas bill ;)

Have to say though, in my house, we have small windows, mostly facing NE and NW. bathroom has 3 outside walls and (probably) no insulation and gets almost no sunshine at all (brrrr - the coldest room in the house). My last house had bigger windows so the sun heated it a lot more than here. I think last year we still had heating on as late as June because it was so cold, at least in the early mornings. And IIRC in the last house we used to turn it off in April - I often used the going-back-to-school week after the easter holidays as my central heating OFF day ,(but we'd put it back on for the really nippy days). bathroom faced east and had the sun shining through all morning - was toasty unlike the freezing damp "thing" we have here lol.

My daughter's house is very warm, you could live there fine without heating, but in my house we keep the stove on all year round cos its thick stone walls and exposed . I think a lot depends on the house itself.
