We had the woodburner on on Saturday when we were all around and sitting about having a lazy day, but apart from that nothing.
My feet were freezing yesterday and I was sitting there in a fleece all chilly, my 6 year old DD was walking about in a summer dress and little else, refusing my orders to wrap up warmer. She's very sneaky, the only time she says she is cold is because she likes a real fire and wants it on :D

I'm feeling good about not having the oil heating on yet, beaten loads of you :)

It's about 16 or 17 at night atm. Liveable with jumpers.

  • It was on last night! It was bloody freezing!
  • Heating is still off - electricity has just flickered off for five mins so might have no electricity too. Imagine the savings

I noticed that it got v-e-r-y cold here last night around 10pm. But as I was planning on going to bed around 11.30, I didn't put any heating on. Just grabbed a fleece blanket to snuggle up in. However, got so cosy that I fell asleep on the sofa and woke around 2.00am with a stiff neck :o!

I lit the coal fire @ 11am and useing the free/given wood on it with very little coal to keep warm as I do the chores. The coal fire looks warm and cosy although it is only small.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

    Hello All

Ours is still off - OH was cold - but really tired last night but put a jumper on and so we are still holding out until 1st November. I have put our second duvet on our bed and will be getting another fleece blanket at Aldi/Lidl soon. Home today so thank goodness its sunny.

It was pretty cold last night! We are having our Sunday roast today though so the oven should help to warm the house later on.

Keep getting up to do extra Fly Lady -if i start to get cold.

    Not long now

  • I didn't start getting cold till about 7pm at the weekend and a fleece blanket was enough to keep out the cold. I'm lucky that my OH doesn't feel the cold much.

I'm not aiming for 1st November, just whenever it gets unbearable, even under a blanket and jumper!!
