Mine's still off. It's about 10C outside and inside it's 16C. I was really chilly at first but after a hot cuppa I'm fine. Hooray for Ikea fleece throws!:TTrying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Throwing the dice... I heard is it more economical putting your heating on low this time of year so it warms the internal brickwork of the house. "Better keeping the fabric of the house warm than warming up cold bricks?"0

Heating still off here in chilly folkestone. I only have night storage heaters and they cost so much and do so little, my flat is basement and has a bit of damp so it is already cold. I have a lovely fleece and faux fur throw over me and a candle burning (could be all in the head but it makes me feel a bit warmer!! DS (19 months) is tucked up in bed in a vest, pj's, bed socks, sleeping bag and duvet, snug as a bug in a rug! All that said though my dear old dad baby sat the other eveining and I arrived home just after midnight to find him sitting in his coat, oops
I am going to try and hold out as long as possible as the rads don't do much anyway, blankets are just as good. The cat might need a jacket to keep the chill off though

Still off here. I'm quite surprised at this as I'm quite a softy and usually have it on much earlier. I am wrapped in my fleecy blanket though....lovely and toasty! Am off to Lidl to buy another one for DS. He drives me mad, walking round in football shirt and shorts, complaining that he is cold!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

This is interesting - I'd like to know more about it. I'm reluctant to start putting on the heating cos I find once I do, I start feeling the cold more and become very wussy!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Heating on here in the morning and evening as it's cold and damp. I live in a huge victorian terrace and it takes ages to get it warm so it's cheaper for me to get it warm and keep it warm.
Had a new energy efficient boiler fitted last year, so hoping to keep the bills at a minimum. I try to keep it at about 21 downstairs and 18 upstairs.
I also use the tumble dryer a bit if I can't get anything line dry. With single brick walls if I have it too cool or lots of condensation we get damp and mould, so I prefer to pay the bills (ouch!) and and have a healthier enviroment. Not always a choice if you're budget is very restritcted though.
I find 15 mins with an electric blanket very cheap for warming the bed up before I get in, costs about 1p a night, got a fast warm one for my chrissy prezzie, most excellent.

My heating is still off. Last year I managed until last week in October before switching heating on but I think it is warmer this year.0

Still off here, though it's been feeling quite chilly this evening. I've been under the fleece blanket a couple of times today - late afternoon and early evening - and Mr Ollie gave up and went to bed a while ago to listen to the radio.
My little cardboard room thermometer indicates 18C but I'm not completely convinced as it also says that's 'Ideal'.
Have resorted to making a large pan of Leek and Potato Soup (for lunch tomorrow) - which helped to warm up the Kitchen/Diner (where the comp is) :j!0 -
Ours is off, we moved in about 6 weeks ago and haven't connected the gas up yet and have just been running everything off the leccy. I've always been cold downstairs so wear hoodies and have my fleecy blanket wrapped around me, while the two lads have been too warm. It's definately getting colder though as OH (who is NEVER cold!) asked for a hoodie today, and housemate said we should get the gas up and running soon as it's getting cold so we'll probably have the heating on a bit soon.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
