Is your heating ON or OFF?

Still holding out. Quite chilly yesterday, with strong winds and some rain late at night, but nothing a fleecy jacket couldn't sort. Today much warmer, and did all my housework with windows wide open and feeling no cold at all. I hope this last till the end of October at least, but perhaps it's hoping too much.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

hmmm - i'm in the minority it seems then. i've had the heating on twice in the past fortnight for quick half hour blasts but i honestly don't feel the need for any more. I read on the bbc.co.uk today that in the 50's the desired temperature for homes was 18C and today it is 22C. I don't know about you lot but 22C seems really warm - I'm happy enough at 19.5 although my thermostat is reading 18 today....0

Managed to keep the rest of the heating off so far.
I was just re-reading this thread and I have found my post when I had storage heaters.... God that house was cold.
We have moved into a new build house and have only had the heating on a few times in the last week or so. Now when we put the heating on, the house warms up really quickly and retains lots of heat. Thank goodness:D0 -
I think I posted on here last year, so going to try and find my post to see how far I got. Heating is definately NOT on here yet. Thermometer in DS's room reached 19 for the first time yesterday, and its been hovering around 21 in the rest of the house... being mid terraced does have its advantages

I'm happy to let the rest of the house hover at around 15C but like to maintain between 17C and 18C in the sitting room at this time of year. I'm not sure why it is, but I seem to feel the cold much more in winter, so tend to aim for 20C in the sitting room.0

It's a good job we don't have to have our heating on as we live in flats where the junkies below usually have their heat belting out so high we have been know to wear shorts in winter.. with our financial situation of myself and my flatmate I know we would not be able to afford to ever have it on..I even feel guilty having food that needs to be heated...
Fingers crossed for you Bitter.. I havent had any work since last December and my flatmates company has no work in.. we are in dire trouble here if something doesnt turn up soon.. I could find myself homeless with nowhere to go(he always has his parents tho he is in his 50s and his brother moved back in after his marital breakup) and I can't see the work situation picking up any time soon. I notice in my local area they do not seem to be even advertising Xmas jobs. Hope things improve for you soon. Stay strong. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Off! Managed to only have it on for 5 days last winter so hoping to do the same again this year. I am however sat here with thick socks, fleece and quilt over me! Might have to find the hot water bottle soon..2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

'Frandlord' put ours on last night - I was freezing I admit, but probably wouldn't have bothered myself, and about 20mins later had to practically strip off:eek::eek::eek: However, my washing should dry overnight which is a bonus.0
