well I succumbed a couple of nights ago as we were away last weekend and the kids had complained of being cold, my dad was babysitting and didn't know how to work the heating.

So I put the heating on for an hour but I ended up too hot so I have switched it off again!

My house seems to hold the heat very well but when it does get really cold outside it takes a lot of heating up.

So that's it, heating is off now until November at the earliest, kids will have to put jumpers on:p

Having worked outside in the garden this morning in a T shirt, I came indoors later and this evening feel distinctly chilly. I think that part of the problem is that while we're physically active we don't feel the cold whereas the minute we sit down and become sedentary, we can get chilled quite quickly. Don't know the answer to this one. Don't have the energy to keep going like a hamster on a wheel for 12 hours a day.

Currently off, I'm sitting here with a blanket with laptop warming me up! I'd like to think I'll last a few more weeks but its doubtful!

Our central heatings off (have combi-boiler still on just water) but we have electric fires in living room & dining room, so we been all in the same room and putting that on for a while, cheaper than running the CH - and warms up very quickly, on a night when the bairns are in bed it's blankets & thick dressing gown for me. At this moment the only thing cold is my feet so I'm about to head upstairs to get my fleece socks on.

We'll put heating on probably when our breath becomes visible:rotfl:

The heating is still off here, except for in my daughter's room. She is also anemic and feels the cold, so her radiator is on for an hour morning and evening. I try and keep it off in the rest of the house until my daughter gets too cold.

Our plumber informed us heating one room with a heater can work out more expensive than using the C/H :0
