Mnoee said:A door curtain makes a massive difference! My cats love the conservatory, so the door to it is always open - having thick curtains up at least keeps the living room tolerable for humans.
I actually have two sets of curtains up on the same pole - one thick pair in a colour that's not to my taste, hidden behind a thinner pair that's more my style. Both charity shop bargains at £10 a pop.
I dont have a door between my living room and kitchen so hung a curtain and the difference it makes for us is unreal and my MIL is almost 70 now with osteoarthritis so the cold is something that really gets to her but Im thinking if I can put a door curtain up for her between her kitchen and conservatory then it will make a massive difference to the warmth of the house.
Her only other issue is that her stairs are open into the living room so a fair bit of her heat escapes upstairs, her attic is all heat proofed etc and she keeps the doors to rooms upstairs closed.Time to find me again1
