Nice buffer to have.

It has been cold and frosty, though we didn’t get much snow. DH recorded a low of -9° in the garden.
It is easy to get cold, even letting the dog out. She is old and takes her time. Getting cold makes me very tired.
I have not been in any rush to leave my warm bed in the morning, and have returned to bed earlier than usual. I have my books for company.
The weather forecast is improving this week. The days are getting a little longer. The first snowdrops are showing a bit of white, ready to flower.

The heating kicked in last week although because of the layout of my home and choosing to put the thermostat in the warmest room which I don't sit in for any extended length of time, I didn't feel the benefit to it. My heated blankets bring me physical comfort from the cold like nothing else, they are well worth the investment. I bought another one last week and have one more arriving by post today. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I had an email yesterday from my energy supplier who'd obviously done their half yearly check and they're dropping my DD by £16 pm as from this month. Good news but I'm thinking they may well do another revision once I send in the meter readings next week! Over this cold spell my heating has been on practically all day, every day, but needs must.Be kind to others and to yourself too.7

My heating is still on. It's at 16 degrees during the day and 13 degrees overnight now. I have finally managed a trip to the local shop on the bus by myself. Its the first time I've left the house (except when I stayed at my DD over Christmas) since the fall I had at the end of November. I've been going stir crazy staying indoors for so long whilst the weather has been bad. Hope everyone's weather has improved. Stay safe and warm everyone.5

Another chilly dip in temperature set to last until Tuesday, I hope everyone is keeping warm?
Its the weekend but I'd much rather stay out than have to make the effort to go out as planned. It would be different if it were cold but sunny, but its just grey and grim.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

After discovering that my gas central heating took half an hour to raise the temperature in one small sealed room by less than 1 degree (temperature reading right by the radiator) and cost me 24p for the privilege I don't think I'll ever be switching it on! Back to the fan heater and woolly slippers I think.Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

January gas and electricity bill, £195.89. It is cold, and grey, 0°C overnight, 3°C today, the snow which was forecast missed this area. It is a wet region, the ground is waterlogged, which makes it feel cold. Late winter, it is tempting to turn up the heating a bit, it is set at 17°C in the day, 7°C at night, but I have added another jumper instead.
We don’t pay Council Tax in February and March, so that helps.
I have been rereading last year’s posts about turning the heating off. A few sunny days would help.8
