Is your heating ON or OFF?

I was cold again last night and got into bed after switching off the heating. I had the heating on for three hours in the morning/afternoon and three hours after 6.
I put on the halogen heater in my bedroom and promptly fell asleep around 9.30 according to my Fitbit. It does give off such a relaxing warmth if you use it in a smaller area. My husband had to switch it off as he had to go out to work a night shift last night.5 -
I had the heated blanket on all night as well as the usual 2 duvets and blankets. Bliss! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Hope everyone is managing to stay reasonably warm as this cold spell is expected to last until at least Sunday. It's still -3 here but not as cold as it was earlier in the week so my heating is still on 15/16 degrees on the wall thermostat during the day and 12 degrees overnight to stop any pipes bursting. It's too slippery outside for me to go out but at least we haven't had snow. Stay safe everyone.6

Its cold here but beautifully sunny and dry, and wrapped up well it was extremely pleasant walking earlier. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I spoke too soon about the weather warming up a bit, we're back to thick freezing fog and -7 outside again and it's like a skating rink on the path so heating is still on. Can't even take the rubbish to the bin for fear of falling over I've just put it outside the back door for now. Glad I stocked up on milk and teabags and my cupboards are fairly well stocked so I don't need to try and get to the shops. Take care everyone.6

My husband tried empty the kitchen bin bag into our outdoor recycling bin this morning. The lid was frozen soIid and wouldn,t budge. Some things are not worth battling with when a potential fall, a fractured limb and a ten hour waiting in a freezing ambulance are the potential outcome!6

As I expected, the timer for the heating has had to be altered back to what it was (longer) - this week has been so cold. Fortunate to not get any snow but it's been thick frost every night with minus temperatures and daytime only just above freezing. Like Auntycaz, we've had freezing fog too. I did venture out to the bin this morning but that's as far as I'll be going!Be kind to others and to yourself too.3

Check the water pressure on your boilers everyone. I woke up this morning to -5 and freezing fog again and my boiler had gone off. E1 on the display. So I had to get down on the floor and crawl in the cupboard to increase the water pressure. Luckily the person who did the check on my boiler had changed the valve you open to let more water in as the old one was too hard for me to turn It took a while to get back up again but it's back on again so that's good.
I can't understand why it has happened again so soon as it's only about 6 weeks since last time i had to do it. Stay warm and safe everyone.3 -
