I haven't turned any heating on yet, but I have put duvet on my bed, as I like to be warm in bed. Room temperature about 15C downstairs and 14C in my west facing bedroom. Still very comfortable for me.5

16th November and we've not had the CH on yet this Autumn /Winter.
But I've had about 5 evenings with the logburner lit for a few hours.
I WFH and always have a blanket over my legs and I've used the heated throw blanket occasionally.
We've been using the lecky blanket in the bed for 30 mins before bedtime just to warm the bed up.
I'm happy to sit with 2 jumpers and a beanie hat on when working rather than heat the whole house.DEBT FREE - Feb '21& Mortgage Free Nov '24

No heating on here today in Hertfordshire.
The temperature is ok for us inside but we have definitely noticed a drop in the outdoor temperature. Looks like it won't be long and we will have the heating on every day. Not complaining though because I am sure this time last year the heating was on every day in November.

have just wimped out and we've put the heating on for an hour despite having thick sweaters and several layers of clothing on. Both in the vulnerable age group now so trying to tread a narrow line between economy and being sensible about health.8

Heating still not on here.
We've both been ill for a week now, but seem to be coming to the end of it fingers crossed. Bundled up warm. The electric blanket has been used a couple of times and helped OH at the time, more than it did me as it was when I was overheating as he had the previous day lol. We've had a light blanket on the bed with the 4.5tog duvet so we could be warm or chuck off easily if we were overheating. Last night we used the long hot water bottle in the bed too.
Just a note incase people say anything:
The heating on would not have made us feel better as the air was warm to breathe so would have made it feel stuffy and nasty. If the air had been cold to breathe we would have put the heating on despite not wanting to.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy8 -
My heating’s just clicked off, I had it on for a coupla hours. It wasn’t cold particularly but we’ve had damp and wet weather for a wee while now and I didn’t want it settling in inside….I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3

Heating still off here. Although will probably have it on this morning for a few hours as its very wet and chilly. Making do with being warmly dressed and a hot water bottle mostlyNewly retired and looking forward to
a fulfilling, positive & happy future.3 -
17th Nov and heating still off ... I actually got told off by my partner for lighting the log burner yesterday as she thought it wasn't cold enough ! She works in the local library and complains how warm the council keep it, she's still in summer clothes else she melts at work. I, on the other hand, WFH and sit in an unheated house all day.
It's currently 12C in my office. I'm sat here in a hat, buff, 2x jumpers and 2x blankets.DEBT FREE - Feb '21& Mortgage Free Nov '24

We have a similar issue, @Singlespeeder. We both work for an employer who keeps the heating on a bit higher than we'd choose, though I suspect it's gone down a couple of degrees from last year. In an effort to reduce costs, they're combined two offices in my husband's department (just wait till someone gets Covid...
) and the room got so hot and stuffy they had the windows open yesterday. Of course you then get used to that temperature, which makes it harder to keep the heat off at home.

I caught a glimpse of headline about the effects of cold housing on health. Of course I can't find it now, but it got me thinking.
There are undoubtedly some very tough people on these boards, and many who have to be tough because they have no option, but for those who have some choice in the matter, please don't be tempted to get too cold. This is a useful article on where we should be aiming. It's useful to know, for instance that having the heat on lower for longer is better than short blasts of high heat, or that hot drinks help keep us healthy when the heating isn't on.
It's also nice that the site has a link to donate to those in fuel poverty.
I've not needed the heating this morning as I cleaned the bathroom which got me warmed up nicely. But then, I have the health to support this, so I recognise it's easier for me than for many.
