Not on here either yet. Downstairs is just over 18c with the thermostat in the north facing hall and upstairs mainly sits at 19c with the thermostat sitting in the middle of the house at the top of the stairs. The sun is beaming through the south facing back of the house today which always helps to keep the temperature up.

Let's hope we don't have another Beast from the East icy spell over Christmas this year just as everybody is trying to cook their Turkey! Judging by concerns about gas and electricity supplies this winter that would give the generating boards a major headache.
Just wondering whether our self illuminating Christmas tree should have a sabbatical in the loft this year but don't suppose its lights for a couple of hours a day will make much difference.

Not had ours on, a 2KWh heater is all we will use, half an hour is good then top up if required.2

Its still warm in the south east ( Medway) and my sitting room is 24c as well ,so no need for heating just yet I am away on Wednesday for five days so hopefully i won't need it until I come home again.
But all ready with plenty of throws and hot water bottles to keep my feet warm when watching tv. I also have a stack of books to read should the electric go off and plenty of batteries and candles just in case

That sounds like heaven - a snuggly throw and a stack of books
How are your ribs today JackieO?I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Not too bad still sore and stiff, but the medication given to me at the hospital works wonderfully and I have had at least a decent nights sleep at last.
Just taking things a bit more gently at the moment and not rushing around as much

After the government warning of potential power cuts this winter, my OH has just rummaged through the back of his wardrobe and dug out an ANCIENT old woollen blanket type long dressing gown which probably dates back to the 1970s (an escapee from various decluttering attempts!). It hasn't been worn for years - discarded when we acquired a property with central heating, but it's really thick and warm and will undoubtedly come in handy this winter as we turn the thermostat down.7

All the data shows that we UK (and Ireland) live in a mild maritime climate. Nowhere is far from the sea, and the islands are warmed by the Gulf stream and prevailing westerlies. In Winter for example London averages 6C warmer than Berlin - although both are at similar latitudes.3 -
Not really an exception, minus 10 degrees regularly in Dec, Jan, Feb with Feb 21 being minus 14 degrees
Snow in April 2021, hailstones in May 2022
Add in North Sea wind chill factor and it gets bitterly cold here on a regular basis
Minus temperatures recorded right through Nov 20 - May 21 and Oct 21 - Apr 22
First frost estimate 1st November, last frost 2nd week May
I came back from holiday on 27th September and the central heating thermostat was at 13 degrees5
