It was a cold and damp day yesterday and I was chilled when I got home from a busy day at work. Customers are crazy we are only closed 1 day !
I had a warm shower to ease my back and got in PJs and fluffy dressing gown and socks, then warmed a microwave bag for my back, and after an hour or so was warmed through.

Heating not on, but short sleeved thermal t-shirt on under my normal tshirt. Next it will be my thermal long johns, men's cause they're warmer, then long sleeved thermal t-shirt. Only when I'm still cold with all that, will the heating go on. Unless DD1 or DS-i-L1 are cold! Previously we've only ever had heating on from bonfire night to Valentine's day. We do however light the wood burner if it's chilly. Mumtoomany.x

^ I might invest in a radiator bed for my cats too.:)

I saw this today and might start to switch on my heating in the next week or two.

The article is a load of rubbish unless your boiler ONLY does heating, a combi exercises the internal components automatically.
I think I am going to switch on my heating in the next couple of weeks anyway!

  • I put my heating on around the first of September every year to temperature. to burn of the dust, check it's working and find any cold spots. I have a boiler check booked but not till November.!
not planning on putting it on till 1st October. but even then will take it day by day. before putting it on timed once the service is done.
I have some amazon vouchers so may invest in some thermal base layers. x

  • Same here, back door and all windows open. Let the warm dry air in 🙂
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.
  • Pleasant day, 15C, windows open, pleasant sleeping temperature last night, no need for heating yet.  Hopefully an Indian summer will mean most of us can push the heating switch on back to November.

South East really warm. Commented last night I might start closing the windows overnight but after about an hour of closed windows, I got up and opened them again. So definitely no heating here yet. Mornings are chilly, but that's my time to jump into action and start the day so I don't mind.
