Is your heating ON or OFF?

I think when it comes to the issue of putting heating on, when you get older, it,s a matter of the feeling of "wellbeing" sitting in a room where you feel comfortable with the temperature. Of course you can be a miser (and I often have been myself, wrapping myself in thick blankets and sweaters,) but if yiu can afford the heating without breaking the bank, why make yourself miserable. I suspect this winter, with Corvid still very much around, we will all need to give ourselves a little leeway to prevent us getting the "shut in miseries".1

It was noticeably colder in the house this morning: the first time below 20 degrees C for quite some time. Our central heating remains off for now but I do have the winter duvets on standby!1

I'm still going to hold off until November if possible.
I have got the blankets and dressing gowns out ready along with slippers instead of flip flops.
No it will be some time yet for me too.
We pay £96 a month dual fuel.
I do shop around to get th cheapest deals but we can't afford much more than that unfortunately.2 -
It was freezing yesterday but I resisted and never put the heating on. Instead I put my old supermarket uniform fleece jacket on which I never handed back when I left last year. It's very cosy.1

I’ve been living in short sleeved t shirts for the last few weeks but I’ve donned a fleece for the last 3 days. I can feel autumn in the air. I’m off on holiday for a week tomorrow so def won’t have heating on. I try to get as far through Oct as poss without heating. I do have a wood burner so sometimes I might light it for a short time in the evening using wood I have collected for free and stored. I have been paying £73 a month for dual fuel to BG but it came up on my acc that I was paying too much and it has been dropped to just over £41 per month.2

I did notice a chill yesterday, end of August but it feels like autumn. Its wonderful walking weather, although the darkness when I finish work is less than wonderful. I did think I would use my fleece blanket under my 2x13.5 tog duvets last night but resisted.
The problem I have with the below is that its literally burning notes in front of my face. Same goes for smoking.

MrsM has put the heating a couple of times in the evening. 3 to 4 hours uses 1 unit of gas so about 30p, hardly going to break the bank and putting into perspective less than the cost of 1 cigarette. I don't get what all the fuss about heating bills, costs me about £3 a day mid winter to have the heating on 24/7 and that is with an antique inefficient boiler. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0
