We only had our heating on two or three times in the end last winter..... although one of our wood burning stoves was lit every evening till the end of April  ;)

Only downside of that is we've not been able to take advantage of the low oil prices as our tank (topped up last summer) is still almost full. Seriously considering buying a second tank, lol!

It's been lovely having a stone house again (we sold our previous stone house back in 2014) - soooo pleasantly cool inside on the hot days/nights we've been having! Yesterday was so chilly though that we lit the stove in the snug for an hour or two in the evening!

Being in NI its been a miracle that the CH has been off since April, totally unheard off

Last time I lit the stove was maybe 3 weeks ago, mum had her electric fire on a couple of weeks ago and thats really about it.

A lot colder at the moment , but the house is still warm

I have placed a security guard around the heating controls in our house, for fear of it being switched on again.

Ours clicked on tonight, which I didn't mind as there was definitely a chill in the walls.

Have to admit mine went on tonight when I went for a shower. Off again now but it’s been chilly all day. I think the sudden drop in temperature since the really warm recent days seems colder that it would have done without the warm spell.

I've seen quite a few people have started to put theirs on already!
I'm still going to hold off until November if possible.
I have got the blankets and dressing gowns out ready along with slippers instead of flip flops.

MrsM has put the heating a couple of times in the evening.  3 to 4 hours uses 1 unit of gas so about 30p, hardly going to break the bank and putting into perspective less than the cost of 1 cigarette.  I don't get what all the fuss about heating bills, costs me about £3 a day mid winter to have the heating on 24/7 and that is with an antique inefficient boiler.
