Its still off here; yesterday in particular was lovely.
Unfortunately I have some plaster that still needs to be dried out before Monday, so I might have to stick it on today purely for that reasonValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Turned ours on on Wednesday. We'd had a run of very wet days leading up to it and I noticed when I got up that my towel was still wet from the previous day's shower. Was hoping to last until after half term but we were having a house valuation on Wednesday so I decided to turn it on to dry the place out. It'll be on, controlled by timer and thermostat, until the spring. Enjoy the autumn folks. I love this time of year.0

Still off apart from that one occasion.
It is getting noticeably colder in the mornings, so I reckon it'll go on soon for a short while much more consistently.
We don't have it on a timer, we put it on when cold and off when we've warmed up.0 -
Had ours on for the first time on Friday night as DS was visiting for a couple of days. He and his partner - who wasn't with him - have a very toasty home so we wanted to ensure our old stone cottage wasn't too chilly
As a result we had both wood burners lit too, although as we (still) only have radiators upstairs it was only half the house that was being centrally heated.
We all agreed it was actually too hot, so last night he just made do with a hot water bottle, lol, so it's only been the one lapse and we're now back to normal mode - ie, add a woolly jumper if a bit chilly and we'll just be lighting one wood burner tonight if needed......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Turned it on at 14.30pm today, on the advance setting. I felt rubbish mentally & not up to doing much/going out, so felt I'd give myself a bit of self care & get the house toasty whilst I read hiking articles online & planned routes on OS maps (walking, my favourite hobby).
I can afford it as Eon keep telling me I'm paying £11 a month too much (I only pay £49 a month for gas & elec anyway) & it's a couple of quid out of the credit I've already built up.
Thermostat has clicked it off now. It'll probably come back on for an hour at 7pm (usually does) & that'll be it til tomorrow morning.
Definitely starting to feel the temp dropping as the nights get darker.
& I'm looking forward to the clocks changing so the mornings are lighter again - I'm an early morning person!0 -
Mines always on, kicks on and off as it sees fit. I don't understand the race to keep it off for as long as possible, I'd rather be comfortable. Spent too long freezing when younger to be cold now.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

Still off at the moment but it no doubt will be on by the end of the month.
I just put a throw over my knees in the evening if it get chilly.I have a large big thick cardi that I picked up in a C/S for a couple of quid which is brilliant for wearing when watching the TV in the evening as its about two sizes too big but very thick as its made from really a sort of double, double knit wool so its very cosy0 -
The important thing to remember in cold rooms is to keep your extremities well insulated - feet, heads and hands. Who cares what you look like indoors anyway if you're wearing a comfy woollen hat? Fingerless gloves (as well as a hot water bottle to hug) are ideal for readers who are continually turning pages.0
