Is your heating ON or OFF?

Lovely & sunny when out walking in the Peak District today, saw quite a few stags. Due for a lot of rain tomorrow, though.
Heating came on at 4pm, & I turned it off again at the thermostat - I have a flu type bug & a raging fever. I may treat myself to a hot bath tomorrow if the daytime temp is cool.0 -

yes its the washing, I am looking for a few hours of dry in the day, maybe setting a timer on the wm, I much prefer to get the washing dry outside but its easier for me as there is only me at home all day. All ch is now as I want it and switched to kick in when needed. I feel cosy and not too warm, perfect really. Feeling very lucky that I don`t have to think of the cost, insulated house. Gas last month for hot water and heating was £9, shower is electric, electric was £35. I have a td but I`ll only use it if needed in a prolonged wet period. I have a fully stocked supply of fuel for the multi fuel stove, sometimes I just need the cheerful brightness, its only been on a few times so far, its very cosy0

I woke up feeling so warm and cosy this morning.:AVfM4meplse wrote: »Its predicted to be wet here most of next week. I shan't be parting with my mac until Friday
I need a mac or a trench coat. It's the season for it now. I was going to get one earlier in the Spring but then the weather turned so warm that I didn't need to!:D0 -
Heating is still off, it's a lovely cool autumn in Scotland and nothing a blanket on the sofa doesn't rectifyMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

No heating for me either, Im down south so it hasnt been cold enough yet. I like fresh air too so the back door is still open all day.
Allowances for cold have been wearing 2 jumpers and ugg boots around the house and 10 minutes of the electric blanket before I get into bed!
You reminded me. I've got an old pair of uggs I wear in the house as slippers if its particularly cold.Need to get them out0 -
It's gone from nice & sunny yesterday to wet & miserable today. It's not particularly cold, so I've got the heating off & put a jumper on.
Second load of washing is on now & the first load is hanging in the spare room. Two spin cycles got rid of most of the water & the dehumidifier is now on the landing doing it's thing - saves me having to open the windows to let cold, damp air in. The washing always dries overnight, whether I have windows open/dehumidifiers or not.
Lots of household chores completed this morning, so it's a late lunch of egg sandwiches just because I fancy it (& have two eggs to use up best before today...)0 -
Cold and wet all day so far. An optimistic ice-cream van is tinkling away in the street outside, but I can't imagine there'll be many takers. Last winter I was happy with the wall thermostat on 18 or 19, but this year feeling chilly below 21 degrees. Perhaps that's what happens when you turn 500

Wet here this morning, but dry and mostly sunny since late morning so whilst DH worked on the kitchen I managed to shift several loads of logs into the new wood store/the kitchen inglenook.....doubt we'll be using any tonight as still fairly mild. Certainly no need for the heating to be onMortgage-free for fourteen years!
