Never did have ours on except that one occasion at the end of January :D

That said, we've had one wood burner lit virtually every evening from about 6pm till 10pm. There's only been a couple of nights when we lit both wood burners and now it's starting to become too hot/stuffy if the one in our snug is lit for more than a couple of hours.

Hopefully that indicates spring proper is on its way!

I'm pleased that my month on month fuel bill has come down by 14% - but am trying to work out whether this is down to the milder weather or whether my new loft insulation has actually made a difference. Can anyone offer me their monthly percentage difference - assuming both gas and electricity are used and there has been no change in tariff or usage for non-heating purposes - to compare with? (Calculation below vv)

100% x [1-(cost last month / cost the previous month)]

Mine's still on, I have a housemate who likes to put the heating on whilst I go bed, so keep having to turn it off! Might suggest turning it off automatic soon, then just turn it on when needed.

This is shameful: its 19th May and I switched my heating on again at 9.30pm. Its just too cold!

We may have switched to the lightweight summer duvet but I feel the cold badly so there have still been times when the heating has gone on. I didn't scrimp and save all my working life to shiver with cold in my increasing old age !
My grandmother was still saving for her old age when she was nearly 90! I'm still a fair hike from that age but "cold means cold" at whatever age you feel it!

I wish on the warm summer days when I sit out in the garden soaking up the warmth on my back there was a way of storing the heat for those chillier days.

I moved into a top floor flat 2 months ago, and have yet to turn the heating on. Don't even need a jumper yet. Thank you everyone else below for keeping me warm :) I might need to flick it winter though, we'll see.

I put it on for a couple of hours, maybe 3 nights ago. Although I don't like it if the thermostat reads below 20C!

I'm just in a t-shirt at the moment, but would put a jumper on before the heating this time of year! It is nearly June after all!

I made the decision to switch energy suppliers recently - that was just to pay what I paid last year for the same usage (dual fuel in a remarkably hot year), rather than make any savings. The incumbent provider tried to woo me back but their deals couldn't get anywhere close. I was told that I am a very low energy user.

So why on earth am I paying over £500 pa for it?

I`ve changed utility providers a lot. I now choose the companies that have better customer service. Currently with Bulb and quite happy so far.
