Family have been here for tea so heating been on low.
The weather is cold very wet and windy but thank goodness no snow
  • The weather has suddenly turned rather cold...sleeting rain at the moment....snow is expected overnight/tomorrow.

The heating is on - but it actually one cost that I have little/no control over. I live in sheltered accommodation and residents here pay a set amount each month - regardless of how much/little we use. So, as it gets colder I put the heating on!

(I DO have 'extra' need for a reasonably constant temperature my chest isn't overly strong and I have a tendency to bronchitis)

Overnight I will have my 'warm PJs on...and a warm 'wheat-bag' to cuddle underneath my thick winter duvet.....I am taking no chances of getting cold!....only thing I don't do is wear bed-socks - I never did like them!
  • By the sounds of the weather forecast its very cold temperatures during the day as well as night , its only been 5 here during the day so its been on with the gas during the day , and ive now lit the fire in the sitting room , me and the dawg are toasty....

this morning I came down and the thermometer showed 8 degrees in my kitchen. Heating has been on all day ( for the first time ever I think), I am clothed and havea dressing gown on and a hot water bottle and still it feels cold.
  • Very sharp frost this morn which lasted well into the day in shaded areas glad I had the heating come on timed, got my fire a light now in sitting room , but think an early night for me tonight as ive had a chest cold since before christmas and its wearing me down.......But I do like nice hard frosts in winter followed by sunny days ....

During this cold spell it's on from 8am til 8pm. By the time it's cooled down I'm in my jimmies, bath robe and new fur lined bootee slippers with a mug of tea beside me. Tomorrow I'll be baking most of the day so may turn it off.
