  • Heating on an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in evening before fire goes on.
  • I have it on for 2 hours between 7pm and 9pm and then from 5.30pm to 8.30pm just to warm the house up, during the day I light the stove if it is really chilly, if it is not too cold I just put an extra cardi on
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

It would normally be off all day as I'd be at work, but son and I are both home from school/work so needed it on a little longer today.

Wont turn it on again until 2.30 though, ready for when the teenager gets home from school. Then off again at about 6pm.

Didn't put it on at 2.30 and its still not on. Not feeling that cold this evening.

Aww that's awful :( Bet you have that electric kettle on all the time for wash ups. Must be costing a fortune. I hope you can get it sorted x

Thermostat at 16C, Reading indoors at 18.7C and outdoors 3.3C (apparently the wind chill is -3C). I'm wearing 2 layers - one base / walking and a multi-colour fur bobbly scarf :D. A girl likes a bit of indoors glamour and its very cosy around my neck / face.

I must look a sight

£100 per month EDF gas / electric.

Very windy and cold today but the house is beautifully insulated so heating off until an hour ago when the temp dropped to just below uncomfortable. Will go off again shortly as it's warmed up nicely again.
  • I went in hospital for a week which was lovely and warm, went to sons and spent 3 days there , he as storage heaters, woke up warm but by mid afternoon they had run out of heat , dam things I hate them.......At the time of day when you need more heat they just cant give it......

As ive got gas heating its so quick and flexible and I sure noticed the difference ..............Im home now and I have the open fire a light which is absolute bliss, and my heating will be on at 6 in the morning........

  • Off. We have all been out quite a bit today so didnt put it on until we came home at 4pm, then switched it off again at 6.

I am currently sitting in the living room with the fire lit and its cold but not worth putting heating on now, I will just manage under my fleecy blanket! Mind you DS needs a shower before bed so he might not be happy.
  • I had the GC heating on at 7 this morn, but as we had sunshine for most of the day it warmed the rooms up nicely, I did light the fire at 4 pm , so its nice and warm in the sitting room, probaly go to bed at 8 as im knocked out.....
