Apparently a frost overnight last night but I didn't see it, the car was clear when I went out at 9.30am. The heating was on this morning for an hour and the same this evening.0

Mine has been on constant for the last few days whilst off work. Set at 17 for most of it, up to 20 if I have felt cold.
Back to work now, so it will be back to being on for a couple of hours in the morning for when I come in, and early evening for when I get up.
The cat will not be very impressed with this I imagine as she likes it on all the time..:)Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I haven't had the heating on much, about 3 hours a day but have noticed terrible condensation on the windows, all of them, in the mornings. Anything I can do to prevent this, don't want to spend the money on a dehumidifier unless I could pick up one pretty cheaply.

Tilly I always leave the upstairs windows slightly ajar on the safety catch, which can't be tampered with from the outside, overnight and don't get the condensation that some of my neighbours complain about - 2 pit-bull types next door and my mutt would soon fend off any would-be intruders! Likewise I keep the ground floor windows open on the safety catch during the day so there's always a circulation of air which doesn't cool the rooms down but keeps the windows clear.

Thanks Sparrer. Kept all the windows on the vent today and it certainly helped, house felt a lot fresher as well. I just have to get into the habit of doing it everyday which should do the trick. Thanks again.0

had the heating come on timed at 6 am , I turned it off at 7 ish ....I lit the fire at tea time , as usual dawg very near in the hearth , so no change there.....I always have all my little windows open at least 6 inches all the time , rooms need ventilating , I lock the large windows and its very safe leaving the little windows open, do love my fresh air and cannot be shut up.......My motto is " one life live it ".....:)0

Still off here. But we will be turning it on for 1 hour per day (first thing) from December 1st. We are starting to get condensation on the windows & I'm concerned about damp." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Here the central heating is on a thermostat timer. It comes on first thing for a few hours, then off until late afternoon / early evening. It goes off again as the house warms up and thankfully holds the heat - if the temperature really drops it comes on before bedtime. I have it off overnight.
That's the thermostat set at 16 deg.
We have acclimatised for 16 deg indoors but we do wear layers and have fleecy blankets etc for sitting around in the evening. Being a lady of a certain age, sometimes I get a bit warm with the odd hot flush!
I'd be interested to know what others are setting their temperature at?0
