Is your heating ON or OFF?

I pledged to get to November without switching it on, which I have done. Just set up the timer now for it to come on in the mornings, as the temp has plummeted here in Scotland - was 3 degrees when I went out this morning. If it goes back above 10 again, I should be fine to switch it off (top floor flat).
Am well in credit with the bills thanks to using barely any gas over the summer and the crazy amount they set the DD to in the first place...0 -
A couple of days ago I couldn't get warm in spite of thermal vest, lambswool jumper, fleece and a little fleece waistcoat over that so capitulated and put the heating on. Today I started off with a cotton roll-neck and felt fine.. so perhaps it's also how you're feeling.
So I've had the heating on once. Yesterday I was up in the loft laying celotex and boards, so when that job is finished along with the hatch itself I hope gas bills won't be too bad. My water is being heated by solar as I type although that won't last long - pesky clouds on the way from the south-west that I can see from my desk.0 -
I had the heating on for an hour last night as it was really cold. I havent had it on today yet and I am not cold
Will either have the fire or heater on later though as winter is definitely here in Northumberland. It is also a wet grey day so that does nothing to help you feel warm0 -
Temperature in my living room is creeping down (just about to drop below 61f), so ..................
I've shut the living room door.0 -
I had a lovely log fire last night which was lovely and toasty. Normally I wouldn't have put the heating on today (still warmish from fire) but I am having a 'day off'. No work, no kids so I am just lazing around and wanted a bit of comfort
I think this is the longest I have gone without having the heating on 24/7 (low) as it has been so mild! Temps have definitely dropped in the last couple of days though.0 -
Just after I closed the living room door, I lit two pillar candles.
The room temperature has already gone up by 1 degree f.0 -
Just had an impressive thunderstorm pass overhead. :cool:0

My bungalow normally keeps it self at a round 19 degrees this time of a year with no heating , and loads of south facing large windows..........
But ive been to the drs yeaterday and I have bronchitis so im not going to get cold whatever it costs me , my health is far more important than risking getting worse than I am now for the sake of whatever it costs................So im topping up the heat to 21 degrees when needed ...............0 -

Mine is still off. The outside temperature here in Hampshire is still very mild. Although, I do put a thick pair of socks on in the evening.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
