Also meat supplies, enough for a couple of weeks' meals so I don't have to think too hard for meal ideas. Cupboards stuffed full after this week's major Mr S delivery, so have plenty of supplies for baking things. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow as I am at work, fingers crossed!
I believe a swift whack on the top of the head once a night helps stunt that annoying growth thing....it also becomes a lot cheaper if they then call childline to be taken away from mad mummy and the frying pan:rotfl:as they say 'never did me any harm in myyyy day'
Well an unexpected NSD to get me off the starting blocks :j was going to a) go to the car wash to use a voucher my mum gave me that is only valid until tomorrow but frankly couldn't be bothered today, b) popped to the market to see if they had baskets of sweet red peppers which they sometimes have for £1...and they didn't. so I resisted all lures of chips and yummy things in favour of saving my NSD (my friend did buy me a kit kat though which was lovely of her - I didn't ask for it...promise!)
Will be a spendy day tomorrow though. Going for big grocery shop with OH (although that will come from grocery budget) but then I need to go back into town to see if the market has those peppers, and to Mr W to get some ingredients for my chilli jam (mysupermarket actually showed them to be cheaper for some ingredients which surprised me). Will also whack the car through the car wash or mummy will tell me off for not using the voucher agiain
We also have a P*undland opening in town tomorrow (rival to the 99p shop - though i'll prob still shop there...it's cheaper :rotfl::rotfl:) might pop in, although I expect it will be HEAVING! its amazing how excited people get here when a new shop opens - it's not like I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere - it's just we have lots of empty shops and all the others become rather dull
Currenrtly have an apple and blackberry cake baking in the oven in my attempt to use up some more apples from my glut...this cake used an entire.....one! :rotfl:
ps BigMumma... don't worry about my sheepy shrinking in the wash.... it made a lovely pie:rotfl:

Haha, believe me, my neddy's rear end can wiggle better than any girl in ritzys on a friday night!! She's well renowned locally for her 'on heat' behaviour - she's not allowed out in public at certain times of the month anymore! At least there is no saying about horses being like their owners.....
Anyway, on that note I'd like to declare NSD number 1 for October - I love getting the month off to a good start! Forgot my lovely dad gave me a bottle of wine for helping him move house last sunday so me and DH have enjoyed that tonight, along with whoopsied steak, cheap local lamb chops and home grown veg - who said DFW's couldn't live in style?! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -

LFV, lovely to have you back (((big hugs))))

Looking forward to all the shenanigans in October. I do believe we still have a pirate day to rearrange as well Spoon.
Hello to everyone joining us this month and ((big hugs)) for all the hugs and best wishes given to us this past week.
No NSD today due to expected DDs coming out of account, have to get the groceries over the weekend as well so maybe one over the weekend. Oh  forgot to get karate money out of bank today. Must remember that for when I get groceries. Actually, I must remember to check what I DO need to get this month. Haven't a clue. Cheryl, can you sprinkle some of your organising dust over here please?I believe a swift whack on the top of the head once a night helps stunt that annoying growth thing....it also becomes a lot cheaper if they then call childline to be taken away from mad mummy and the frying pan:rotfl:as they say 'never did me any harm in myyyy day'

Welcome aboard to all the newbies
Great to see so many people returning for another month as wellCheryl0 -
Cheryl, I hope you've devised an excel programme to work this out for you every month
:rotfl::rotfl:
Yep!
My budgetting s/sheet has a calendar page - so the first thing I do is highlight the days I expect D/Debits to go out of the bank. Then I check last month and this month of last year to see if there are likely to be any other bills that aren't paid that way such as dogs jabs and window cleaner. Then it's a case of counting up the non-highlighted days, and making allowances for when there's a loooooong stretch of them that I'm unlikely to make without needing something I didn't think of (such as fresh fruit, milk or frozen veg).
And so I come to a target I think I stand a chance of achieving - though it all seems to hinge on Whoopsies
And speaking of Whoopsies - my second night this week on the close and clean shift, and the fish counter had tuna steaks on final clearance again !!!! I'm sooooooo not impressed, as it's months since they've had any make it past the 25% discount stage  And today was a spend day (due to a D/Debit), so I could have bought other stuff - but ended up spending not a penny other than that D/Debit because of not being allowed to shop while clocked in any moreCheryl0 -

Such a shame about this new rule Cw
But we have a relatively new HR manager (transferred in from a bigger store), and she's clearly insisting we adhere to the handbook. It was she who pulled me to one side two weeks ago when I'd missed seeing her new notice that it was to stop with immediate effect, but she was very nice about it.
So I can't really grumble, but in future I may think twice about doing close & clean on a D/Debit dayCheryl0
