Spent a fair bit of dosh today (replacement school blazer and tie for DS who has the nerve to keep growing). Also meat supplies, enough for a couple of weeks' meals so I don't have to think too hard for meal ideas. Cupboards stuffed full after this week's major Mr S delivery, so have plenty of supplies for baking things. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow as I am at work, fingers crossed! One life - your life - live it!0

Same here please Spoony! I have no idea whether I can manage that many or not, but my rules are going to be no handing over of cash or credit/debit cards. Direct debits/standing orders cannot possibly count for me I'm afraid.
Sadly today is already going to be a spend day - taking DD and her friend out for tea in a minute. Mostly I am trying to cut down on buying lunch at work.
best wishes everyone

Hello to all the newbies, welcome to the madhouse!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
LFV, lovely to have you back (((big hugs))))
Well, as expected spendy day for me today, but managed to get everything done so hoping that means a no spend weekend (money put aside for the 2 things Mr M didn't have, but to be honest if it rains like this all weekend i won't need them enough to go out & get them anyway!!)
Lazy night tonight with some trashy TV & a glass of wine, cheers all!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Right - time to set my target.
31 days in the month, of which 7 are probably going to be D/Debit days (depends when the one that caught me out on Wednesday hits, may only be 6)
So that leaves 24 potential NSDs
But I have 2 long gaps between D/Debs (1st-11th and 15th-26th) when I may need something I've not previously thought of, so I'm going to leave myself one spend day in each of those runs
That takes me down to 22
Today is a spend (D/Debit day), so I'd normally do other shopping today. However I'm not going to get chance due to having another long shift at work (got to walk the dog this morning instead of this evening, and several of the places I'd want to 'hit' will be closed by the time I get home). I would have considered putting money to one side to keep tomorrow as an NSD, but I've no idea how much I'll need (new underwear being the order of the day, as I'm now at the point that I'll lose a certain item of clothing if I'm wearing a skirt or dress). So that's another potential NSD gone, and takes me down to 21
I've also decided to allow for one Whoopsie day for each full week in the month (so that's 4 allowed), but I'm also building myself up a list of items that I can pick up from Whoopsie whenever I see them at a good price (the best sausages being one, and certain cuts of fish another), a list of things I mustn't stock up on any more (pies!) and must just plain and simply leave alone (cakes & biscuits), and a list of things I can consider but need to think carefully about (sandwich fillers and cheese). So hopefully these lists will help towards my addiction to Whoopsies
That brings me down to a target of 17 - but I've still had to think about whether this is possible. I have two more bills this month - one of which I have no control over the 'when' for, and one that I can't make co-incide with a D/Debit - which are window cleaner (came Wednesday, but had already been paid for that one, so probably around 13th/14th) and the dogs annual booster (due on 6th and could be delayed a week or so, but the next D/Debits are 11th/12th which are my long days at work - wouldn't get him to vet before they closed - or 15th which is the start of a very busy weekend and the day I plan to go shopping for loo rolls). So I'm going to put the money for those to one side today instead.
Spoon - can you please sign me up for 17 this month
Cheryl, I hope you've devised an excel programme to work this out for you every month:rotfl::rotfl:
If you're a newbie (and not from the grocery challenge), don't worry! There is much to learn and I am but a novice padawan myself.

Not only will it be celbrate your NSD total day but it will also be.....(drum roll drrrrrrrr....) HALLOWEEN! Or Samhain, for our pagan members! We have got to have a full blown NSD gang night out for that!
Ooh, I'll be in London then... do you think any-one will even notice if I'm dressed up?
NSD 1 No new emergency medications have needed to be purchased, the parking place I smugly found then worried about all day was actually legit and free so no parking pennies or fines needed and The Forth Road Bridge no longer takes it's toll (at least, not financially. I discovered today that I'm a wee bit apprehensive with bridges!). And as I don't want to be washed away in the monsoon outside I decided to leave my friend's in the pub on their own and cozy up here instead.
