    Morning all

Spoon can you please put me down for 17 NSDs this month...here's hoping I can make it this time!! Thank you again for all your hard work in keeping this thread going...quite a mammoth job!! :T:T:T

Ordered a new mattress last night, well after midnight, so this morning actually, preserving my last NSD of September...the things we do :D The mattress is due to arrive Saturday morning so DH and DS2 can take it upstairs....oooh I'm getting all excited, sad isn't it!!! Our present one is over 14 years old and getting quite lumpy...have splashed out on an upgrade (back care and memory foam). As I have a bad back, I should have done this years ago, looking forward to a good night's sleep on Saturday/Sunday ;) Hoping my fitted sheets will still fit, as it's a deeper mattress!!!

Weather c**p here today......very wet and windy...oh well, off to the gym in a mo, then having friend round for a natter and some lunch (homemade soup and bread...yum!). Shopping later for a few bit's and bobs (eggs, F&V, cheese, cereal etc). DH is doing the Lidl run tonight (OJ, Loo roll and oats)...that should keep us going over the weekend! Cupboards and freezers reasonably full, so wont have to have a big shop for a week or two...hopefully!

Enjoy the rest of the day folks...October already.....oh dear, oh dear...where does the time go??

Phew! two pages already and it's only 9.45am!

Just popped in to wish you all a happy first of the month, yesterday wasn't a NSD for me but after three in a row it wasn't likely to be (since Daisy moved out I need to buy milk again lol!). still didn't get any potato and herb bread in Mr M (think they've stopped doing it now) but did get two sun dried tomato bloomers redueced to 59p each (not quite as good as your Whoopies Cheryl but not bad), some ploughman's pie, and game pate.

Spoony, can you put me down for 12 NSD for Oct please? Although I am away with work for some of Oct, I've also realised we're heading up to see OH family in the month too so that might make NSD difficult.

Right - better get on. catch you all later.

Ps. Still on my apple dilemma, as I can't find any cranberries for my chutney yet - someone last night told me that I could freeze them if I peeled and cored them first then they'd be ok to cook with - anyone tried this??

Hello everyone and happy October to you all!

Spoon, can I sign up for 10 again please, I did think about lowering my target (especially as I haven't come close to it in I-don't-know-how-long!) but, I've looked through my diary and 10 should be more than achieveable.

I'm going to declare my 1st NSD now, I know it's early but I've just done the school run and I was verrrrry tempted to pop in the shop for biscuits and some white chocolate, it's DH's birthday tomorrow and I was thinking I could make him a lovely white chocolate birthday cake (and I could eat the biscuits :o) .... but, I resisted the temptation and I'm going to make him a lovely something else birthday cake. I'm quite pleased with myself really and it was the thought of being able to declare my 1st NSD on here.

Anyway, we're staying in for the rest of the day baking, pressie wrapping, getting the house a little sparkly and having a wiggle. I will have to pop out to pick up DD1 but I have no intention of going near a shop!

Many thanks again spoon for all of your hard work and kind words, you are a star x loving your super hero cat from niccatw :D

  • Good morning everyone!

Spoon - I'll pledge 19 NSDs again this month please - it's my lucky number which I always only just about manage to achieve by the skin of my teeth!

Good luck collecting October NSDs everyone!

  • Hello everyone :hello: I'm not a DFW, but am struggling a bit at the moment as I've committed to too much in the next few months and now find I don't have much left over to fritter away as I normally would, so would love to join in!

I don't include DD's, petrol and electric as these are all essential and I have got them all down to the bare minimum. Basically, my challenge is designed to stop me popping into the shop for one thing on the way home from work every day, and coming out £20 lighter!

I'll be taking this approach too - anything in my budget will not be counted - that's rent, bills, petrol, DDs. Groceries are not budgetted for and are the thing I've been spending a lot on recently, when there's food in the cupboards at home!

I'll aim for 5 NSDs per full week, making 20 NSDs! Yikes, that sounds a lot! Good luck everyone!

Yes you can - I've used frozen chopped apples and pears for chutney making :D (I currently have 4 carriers of apples and 1 of pears to 'process' but have no room in fridge or freezer!! :p)

Please can I join? I saw Cheryl's post on the GC. I've just started monitoring my NSDs these past 2 months, so thought I'd formalise it. I'm going to go easy on myself at first and not include days with DDs/ STOs etc in as spend days, but will look to build up to that.

Can I set a target of 10... I will still find that quite hard to achieve with birthdays and 2 meals out and an NCT sale to attend and also some X..s shopping to be done. However, I need to rein my spends in, so this will help focus me :D (hopefully....!!)

Can I please be put down for 20 NSD. Aiming high as I am now on maternity leave and will be spending a lot of time at home this month as I will be working for my OH!

And it means that I will be able to post my NSD progress a bit more than I did last month :)
