Oh dear nicca, hope your friend is ok. I'm rather behind on the ebay front too, been a bit slow getting going doing anything today so must get them listed tomorrow. Thanks for the offer to join your mini challenge, I would love to but I really only have these three items to list. I got rid of a lot of stuff doing car boots, I found for certain items, esp clothes, it's much easier to sell them at the car boot for £1 - £2 (or possibly more depending), esp as it takes the faff out of postage and additional fees etc. There is a big car boot near us - sellers usually get there between 8 - 8.30 so its not too early. Why not team up with a friend and try on next year when the weather is better - ours charges £11 per car, so we split it £5.50 each, so the cost is covered by the first few items we sell. Get a clothes rail from Freegle or a similar site too. I was a bit nervous at first, dealers often try and panic you into parting with items as soon as you arrive and I was worried about haggling over prices, but just stand your ground and you'll be fine :)

Small spendy day today (so far), got two loaves of Warburtons' bread for 10p each - not reduced so I don't know what the deal was with the price but I'm not complaining :j and some tinned rhubarb (now I know it waaay out of season!) and some ginger for crumble - all for the princly sum of 65p :)

My friend's ok, well, as much as you can be with a kidney infection! Just going back to the hospital now to visit the person I work with at my second job (chest infection), before heading back to see my friend for xfactor. I was hoping to make it an NSD, but the sick people may be in need of chocolate or magazines and I'd feel bad if I turn up empty handed!

Got 5 things listed on eBay (it take an age, don't it!)... more to follow...

And I'm hoping to do a car boot with said friend... will let you know when we brave it!

Cl@rks was a wash-out. The 'Active Air' system isn't much better cushioned than other shoes I've had in the past. There were two other designs I was interested in, but the one you can't order into store isn't stocked in store either and the other was much worse than the 'Active Air' one.

They did have one that has nice cushioning - at £55/pair. But they have a mesh detail on them which I'm worried will pick up icing sugar (from doing doughnuts and mince pies) and not be easy to clean. They're also a bar shoe meaning my socks will get covered too - I'd much rather have a pair of slip-ons or (preferably) lace-ups :o

Having tried them I know the size I need if I end up ordering a pair on-line having drawn a blank everywhere else though.

Cheryl~A couple of people I know are keen on the Sketchers version.
Not seen those anywhere either, but will have a G00gle later and see if I can find a stockist within a reasonable distance :)

Cheryl - do you have any outlet factory shops/centres nearby? My friend got her MBTs at one near us for £80. Still a lot but justifiable if you know they'll work for you.
£80 would be manageable (just), but I don't know of any outlet locally :( The only ones I know of are in Fleetwood and South Wirral - last time I was at Fleetwood (about 10 years ago) it was pretty naff, and from what friends have said I don't think it's improved. Never been to the South Wirral one, and on checking the website it doesn't show anything that indicates MBT to me - but it does list Sketchers, and also Ecc0 which is a make I like some designs of (just not my current ones which I ordered on-line!) so possibly worth an outing next weekend ;)

  • Happy Birthday Dopey, sounds like you are being spoiled :D

Today was unintentional NSD, I normally spend on Saturdays doing top up shop but my lovely mam popped over and brought lunch with her. She also bought me a back rest for my computer chair in my home office which I'm using at the moment but feels weird being sat properly upright, I feel like I'm about to slide off the chair! But my back is hurting less than usual so maybe it is working. :)

Hope everyone has a lovely evening. xx
