Up to NSD #15 now :T
Tomorrow should have been #16, but doubt it will be. Desperately need new shoes for work, and have decided the M.B.T. ones I'd love (know I like/get on with them as I had a pair in 2002) are waaaaay too far out of my price bracket - even if I sweet-talk my parents into contributing now rather than giving me a cheque for C*******s and my birthdayLooking on-line it seems that Cl@rks have a couple of pairs that are possibles, but one is only available on-line for home delivery - and I can't be bothered with the faff of getting them delivered (if/when I'm in - or collecting from the sorting office if they use RM rather than a courier) and then having to return if they don't fit. The other pair can be ordered into a store, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they may also be stock items and heading out to one tomorrow.
I also want to check the Mr A on the same complex to see if they have the smaller size (again!) of my work trousers - according to the on-line site they come in the size I'm looking for (which is the smallest!), but they're out of stock on there which means stores may well not have them either (especially as I don't remember seeing smaller than I have now in the 3 stores I had to hit to get my current one)Even if they have them in the wrong length, it will at least mean I can try on for waist size before phoning around to try and locate some..... I just can't believe the ones I bought just over a month ago (and a month after buying my previous ones) are already getting so loose my work shirts won't stay tucked in, meaning I'm "in breach of the uniform code"
(Haven't been pulled for it yet, but figure I won't make it through the winter without being, and Mr A only seem to stock these trousers through the late summer/autumn if last year was anything to go by - I managed to get from the dregs of stock last November)
Also need to pick up lettuce and milk, but these are items I put money aside for last Friday - so if I can't get shoes and trousers I could still retain my NSD yetCheryl0 -
Cheryl - I know it's not very MSE but I would deff consider whether you could budget for the MBT shoes given that you have previous back problems and have a job being on your feet. There is nothing worse that a pair of shoes that aren't quite right becuase you end up buying twice. Have you seen if you can find them on the internet at a reasonable price? I know delivery is a faff - perhaps a friend could take delivery (even at an office or somewhere?)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

:jBDINI : well done for no 11, you’re doing brilliantly, nearly there now. Keep going.
Hope you’re starting to feel a bit better?
Thanks Spoon think i'm getting there now, i've been back to the dr today & my blood count still isn't right, but tonight i actually had real food instead of weetabix for tea, so that must mean i'm on the mend!!
Been a funny sort of week, my voluntary work started Wednesday & was brilliant, even if i was totally shattered when i got home!!! Done alot of sleeping & a lot of fretting about the fact that the new manager is due to start at the beginning of november & an office move or change of location isn't possible so i'm stuck with himStill with all the spending cuts i'm lucky to have a job so i guess i'm just going to have to make it work.
Didn't get a NSD today as i got a few groceries, going to batch cook a few soups in a bid to start eating again, needed a tin of paint too but the shopping was heavy & i was tired as for some insane reason i walked the 2 miles into town  so i've put the paint money to one side to fetch it over the weekend & thats the only spending i'm planning on doing, fingers crossed!!
:mad: to all the problems your mum is having in hospital 3 dogs, really hope you manage to get it sorted this weekend, & well done Jinty's dad!!
Right, yet another early night i think, i'm hoping i might have the energy to do something useful this weekend!!
Epic over, night allFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -
Thank you both for the congrats re Dad, I know its a big weight loss but he WAS a big boy - he's 6ft 2in and his start weight was just shy of 20 stone:eek: He has various health issues including rheumatoid arthritis, which obviously are not helped if you are carrying excess baggage. He says he's not been as light as this since he was at school!
Just back from Tesco, actually came in under my weekly budget so am delighted. Lots of good offers on ( by which I mean on the things I normally buy, for once;))
Also went to the PO and Asda - put my weekly savings away, I 've reached my target for my Christmas savings, have got two cards full (£300), the fares for next week are in the jar and the Sat takeway money is in the jar too! Sorted!
Have a lovely day everyone,:) although it's raining C & D's here ATM:(
Well done to your Dad, jinty, that's a great achievement for the "more mature" person, Cheryl's right, metabolism slows down as we "mature", so he's done brilliantly. I'm sure all the female attention helps though:D:D
And well done to you, too, very organised on the savings front:T:T:TThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

In the meantime there is of course Halloween a week on Sunday, so get your pumpkins, your witches' hats, your black cats and your breakdancing skeletons ready for the NSD gang Halloween ball - any ideas for this momentous occasion gratefully received.
Nov 30 is in the diary, Nargle:T.
Re Halloween - a castle is definitely required for our ball, I think. How about Alnwick Castle, suitably grand for our ballgowns, suitably haunted for our pumpkins, witches, skeletons and ghosts to feel at home in, lots of suits of armour for the aliens to have fun in and loads of room for Hubert to play in:D:D
How does that sound to everyone? The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

((((hugs)))) BDINI, you really have been through it recently. Take care and hope you're properly on the mend soon.
Glad the voluntary work went well, you're bound to be shattered as you haven't recovered completely, give it a bit of time.
Re your new manager, it's surprising what you can put up with/get used to when you have to - give it a bit of time for everything to settle, it might work out OK.
