Good morning everyone!
Yesterday brought my running total up to 17 NSDs! If all goes to plan I should collect one more today, leaving me one short of my target!Maybe our next outing should be a ceilidh for St Andrews day on 30 November? Any excuse to get my sporran out again!
A ceilidh! Woo hoo! I'll be there !!Right... so I need to list at least 12 to match you... (probably more by now!) And this weekend is free listing... So that's my weekend plans sorted then!!!
Update: I only managed to list 1 more lot out of 2 the other day, so I've listed 11 items/lots and so far have sold 3 of them - good luck Nicca!I just saw the thread about the free listing weekend, which is great - I missed the last one being out of the country and I have a few items that haven't gone at the car boots because of the price but I am not letting a worn once Ben Sherman shirt go for £2, nor a Chilli Pepper dress (brand new) going for £1 either.... so been waiting to list on ebay to hopefully get a decent price and not lose out if the item doesn't sell....now where's me camera gone...????
Good luck too Kerri!solventsoon wrote: »Re Halloween - a castle is definitely required for our ball, I think. How about Alnwick Castle, suitably grand for our ballgowns, suitably haunted for our pumpkins, witches, skeletons and ghosts to feel at home in, lots of suits of armour for the aliens to have fun in and loads of room for Hubert to play in:D:D
How does that sound to everyone?
Gets my vote!
Have a good weekend everyone - rain and wind forecast for today, but a crisp n fresh sunny day forecast for Sunday!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

laters (so hip, so a um)
It'll need to be a VERY brave band to tell us lot what to do!:rotfl::rotfl:
Glad the ceilidh idea is proving popular, we need some nice young Scottish men to drag us around the dance floor......... I'll have Euan MacGregor........... thanks very much!;)

Good morning all!
Very wet and windy here today ( and no I didnt have a curry last night:p)
Should be a NSD today as I have no plans to go anywhere near a shop. It's grotty outside so I think it will be a day for the house!
Looking forward to Halloween ball next week - Alnwick Castle sounds just the job!
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Cheryl - I know it's not very MSE but I would deff consider whether you could budget for the MBT shoes given that you have previous back problems and have a job being on your feet. There is nothing worse that a pair of shoes that aren't quite right becuase you end up buying twice. Have you seen if you can find them on the internet at a reasonable price? I know delivery is a faff - perhaps a friend could take delivery (even at an office or somewhere?)
Looked at putting a few quid to one side each week from January in the hope I could afford a pair at some point next year - but my previous pair only lasted around 9 months with less wear than they'll get now, so if I assume I'll get 6 months out of them that's coming on for £7/week
That's off the 'net, as I don't seem to be able to find anywhere (locally) that stocks them - but I know when I got my previous pair they weren't sold through shops, and I had to drive miles to a house to see/try/order, then drive out again a couple of weeks later to collect them. And most of the designs now look more like trainers, which probably won't be acceptable at work - shoes only, with trainers totally banned. So I'd have to print out some pics and take them in to the store and HR managers and see if I could get away with them before 'splashing the cash' which is another hassle
There's only one design I could buy in the confidence they wouldn't raise issues at work (they're £179), but one site warns they're 'specifically designed for ladies feet and don't suit a wide fit'.... and guess who normally needs a wide fit
The pair I've seen at Cl@rks say they have a special cushioned sole (they call it Active Air), and they don't look totally flat at the front either, which is why I think they may be suitable. And at £35 (sale price, should be £50 - another reason the store may not have any in) they're much more reasonably pricedCheryl0 -
yesterday was another nsd for me, taking me to 7/10! Nearly there!0

Oh dear, I've done a ceilidh twice and both times I have managed to hit the dancefloor with two left feet. First time was at my OH cousins' wedding and the caller seemed to get very p*ssed off with the fact no one knew what on earth they were doing (it was more like military boot camp than an evening out). Second time was our work's do this year which coincided with Burns Night week. Unfortunately we only found out it was a ceilidh AFTER I'd bought a new paid of shoes which with 4 1/2" heels were most unsuitable for stripping the willow or doing and gay gordons in :rotfl: How i managed to stay upright for the evening I'll never know - perhaps beer + unsuitable shoes * potenital disaster on the dancefloor = a very strong will not to make a t*t of yourself infront of your boss :rotfl::rotfl:
Cheryl - good luck with the Clarks shoes, I'm surprised the MBT ones didn't last all that long - that's pretty poor actually for shoes of that price.
Off to list some things on eBay shortly - though have already sold a headboard for £10 this morning - people were phoning this week and I'd totally forgotten I'd even put it in the paper as I did that when I got home from Taiwan - jet lag induced amnesia!
Spoony - I am very pleased to announce yesterday was a NSD! so that's my second target of 15 hit :j:j Can you raise my target to 17 please....I am not sure I'll meet it as I'm on hols for a week now, tonight we're meeting friends so no nsd, not sure about tomorrow and I know Tues will deff be a spend as the car goes into the garage for the heater to be fixed (no doubt that will be another small fortune) but I'm gonna do my best. Given my first month's target in August was 8, I think I'm doing ok at this challenge
