I try to build the cost of the fees into my postage to some extent, just that little bit extra so it isn't excessive, no-one has ever said I have high postage costs.
I accept Paypal, cheque and postal orders and find that the majority of people pay by Paypal. It certainly makes my life easier as waiting for cheques to come in and then having to go and bank them, especially if it is only for a small amount can be a pain in the proverbial.Think I may join in on this one. Going to see if I have the courage to list some things over the weekend.
I've just got my SIL up and running selling some stuff. If is a bit daunting initially but I found it addicitive once I'd had a few sales and good fun. Good luck. Feel free to PM me for any advice or post here, there are plenty of sellers willing to help.0 -
Welshlassie and of course others, what do you recommend in terms of auction length and finish times.
I have read many a time that it is a good idea to make sure your listing covers a weekend.
Any thoughts?0 -
I used to list everything on a Thursday evening for 10 days so it covered 2 weekends, but haven't really found an increase in bids or amounts as a result of that so I now just list for 7 days and don't worry too much about when they start as this will have one weekend included regardless.0

I list for 7 days too, that's more than enough time.0

Hi
I prefer paypal tbh. I do put a tiny bit in the postage to cover a bit and the rest I just accept for the convenience. Plus if I have to take a cheque to the bank it costs me to park, or the price of a stamp to post.
Had a bit of a sort out last night and managed to list 19 lots and planned a few more to list tonight. btw I usually list for 7 days too.

I will join again this month.
Last month I made 14.25 - but this is before fees were deducted, but to be honest I didn't really try.
Hopefully this month I will have more motivation
