Hi ladies, I am new to this site and would like to start making my own cards. You ladies seem like a caring helpful wise lot and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for freebie downloads. I am on a tight budjet as me and my husband are both retired due to ill health, me breast cancer and OH stroke, so dont have much disposable income IYKWIM. I have bought this months Cardmaking and papercraft mag and have copied the free papers in there to start me off. Besides card, paper adhesives etc what else do you recommend. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I am also new to navigating on here so please forgive me if I get things wrong
    Thanks, Sue

Afternoon ladies, I had a surprise this morning - my CC designs stamp/die set turned up that I won last week, its really cute! I've just managed to finish my latest card off too and am hoping to make a start on another one in a minute - I've been dying to use my new LOTV stamps. I'm a bit annoyed though - I ordered one of the circular sentiments set and none of my scalloped circles nesties fit them!!! Thanks to everyone's comments on my book card thingie on my blog, I must try and get a new background for my blog today - it looks so bare - it takes me so long to decide though I don't think I can be bothered!!!

Rusty - the last 2 wins that I've had have been from competitions rather than challenges. I don't really enter that many challenges now - I decided not to enter those that have digital stamps as the prize because I just don't use them - I've had a permanent fall out with my printer now, so I figure it would be a waste if I won over someone else that would use them. The nurse at the scan took ages looking because OH and I figured that it would be a boy again, so she checked, double checked and triple checked - no little winkie!!

The-Wife - hope you feel a bit better today.

Dragonllew - congrats on your win!

Louby-Lou-Lou - hope the mess at the school gets sorted soon.

Mad-frog - I was really disappointed with the papers especially since the first pad was so pretty, I've got my eye on the 4 new MME pads - they do look fab!!!

Paddingtondoo - I really fancy watching that Tangled - I'll have to wait until it comes onto sky!

Glittermum - that's fab news about your brother - bet your family are delighted!!

Misskaty - could you maybe try ebay?

Rainmac - I hope that DS2 recovers soon and that you manage to get some rest.

Thanks Katy, MIL gave me a little bag of card cut offs, but not sure what to do with them yet. I am going to start reading right from the beginning on part 1 for inspiration and ideas.
    Thanks again, Sue
  • Thanks, it just feels like we are hitting our head against a brick wall with the school. Head said that ds1 will be going though all his school life with this boy so they just got to learn to get on. But it isn't that simple. Having a proper meeting soon but it will be pointless as we can't talk about said child ( because of his outside help and his problems that we aren't allowed to know about) and talk only about our child also i want to clear a few points up and clear my name a bit but she won't be intrested. They all stick togther and twist things and change rules to their advantage.

Got to make a couple of cards, one for tomrrow but my moj has ran off too. I was looking forward to doing quite a few challenges this week but they have gone out of the window.

Planning a head a bit i am putting together a couple of pamper bags for my friends ( we are off to a spa for my 30th :j) so i thought it would be nice to give them a few bits as thanks for coming. So i need a spa image of some kind for the cards. Will look on google.

I also want to make some sort of chocolate gift for them and for a group of friends who i haven't seen for well over 6 months whom i am going out with next month so need some ideas.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
Want to be fit for 30 not fat at 30
    but i want never gets!!!

Rainmac you are very welcome. Sorry to hear your littlies not well, poor thing, its not been a very good year for you so far with the coughs and colds and high temperatures. I hope you get a nice rest this weekend xx

Rusty I hope you are feeling much better today and your pain is easing. I have seen you in pain and its awful when no one can help. Take care xx

Dragonllew Congratulations on your latest win.

Misskaty I would be inclined to contact fiskars too, you have nothing to lose and maybe something to gain :)

Suesad Welcome to the thread, we ae all very friendly and try and help as much as we can. Sorry to hear you and your DH are not in the best of health, cardmaking might just be the therapy you need, it will certainly keep you busy. I will go and find you some links for freebies :)

I have been the perfect domestic goddess today, cleaned washed ironed and cooked!! Work tomorrow and payday :) Hoping DH is going to offer to take me to York on Monday to have a look at the closing down sale for Paper Mill.
