Welcome to the thread Suesad - it is a lovely place to be. Welcome to all the other newbies.

Well done on hosting your first SU party Glittermum - glad you all had a fab time.

Ali - so glad you have made your first 'mug hug' - any piccies? Be warned they are addictive, and I am about to start another with the left over wool I have from my scarf, which I am still wearing every day - how can I ever give away any of my makes, when I fall in love with them all :rotfl:.

I'm on the scrounge again for freebie images - anyone know where I can get a black & white image of a 'surfing dude'? I did find one on the net, but it had really big feet in proportion to the body, and didn't save it before closing my PC down last night. Where's PepPop when you need her!

Haven't seen WBR or PONR for a while so hope you are both OK.
Hugs to those that need them, and hope you all have a great weekend.

Need to have a serious craft weekend - got loads of male birthdays coming up, so need to get some inspiration to make the cards.

Does anyone else know of any good places to get cheap craft supplies to make cards and jewellery for my daughter. She's saving money for a trip to africa to help build an orphanage

Misskaty have you tried asking on your local freecycle group, quite often people have stuff like that to give away.
  • I'm feeling quite down today, but looking forward to using my craft stash over the weekend. I got a letter whilst at work from the GM to say that my new job title is now 'Medical Secretary' which I am most upset about as I am not a Medical Secretary I am an office manager and if they take the title away from me and I sign their non-descript job description then I lose all authority in the office :-( Also got a call last night from my DD's father's g/f to say that he had been taken to hospital after an accident with a piece of machinery then she has rung me back today to say he had an op this morning and has been rushed back to theatre, I don't particularly like the bloke but it has really upset my DD and there is nothing I can do to cheer her up, hopefully she can go see him if her grandma comes to pick her up and takes her.

Hi, ladies so sorry not been around - I have been commenting on blogs and I've been reading but not commenting - I dont know whats wrong with me more down than up lately - house is a tip, weather lousy all the usual carp (but nothing important - when I read things on here people are a lot worse!) so given myself a huge kick up the a*se to sort myself out and stop being a grump!!!

Ct- sorry not got a pic yet of my mug hug as need the buttons but will def. think about adapting the pattern to make it a bit narrower so your lips arent touching it when you drink. Was it def. a black & white surfer image you wanted as I have a jolly nation decoupage image that I doubt I would use I'd happily send it to you - just let me know:)

Hi Ali - i'll look forward to seeing your mug hug - i'm new to knitting so wouldn't have a clue how to alter the pattern. I am really cuffed though, just seen my best friend who said she really liked the scarf I was wearing and where did I get it. I said I knitted it, so now need to to another one for her exactly the same. It's her birthday at the end of March so I have a bit of time, and it will be another present for her, just hope I can get some more of the same wool tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the offer of the decoupage, it is very kind of you. Is it this one? If it is, that would be perfect if you wouldn't use it, let me know what I can give you for it. It is for my nephew who is 16 in a few weeks time, he lives in Greece, and loves surfing and waterpolo, so this would be fab. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about your job - hope you manage to sort it out. Why do organistions insist of reorganising and changing the titles of people. It so irratates me - i used to work for a co that used to change things every 3 years, and it was never for the better.

Hope your DD is ok gets to see her dad as soon as she can xx
