  • Whoop Whoop - I went out :j Would have to say that it was far safer in the car than trying to walk on the pavements - was ok in opticians as I got parked right outside but wasn't sure if library car park was clear so rather than get stuck I parked on the road and had to slither along hoping i wouldn't make an idiot of myself - just about managed to stay upright and turned round to make sure no one was looking - didn't want to fall on the huge new Jilly Cooper I'd just been to collect :rotfl::rotfl:

Reversed back in the drive - further over this time :) but will still be in trouble coz I ended up in the deep snow and couldn't come back so far.

Thought we were all gonna be trapped in as van men tried to reverse down the lane straight into our front wall (only gently mind) and got stuck :rotfl::rotfl: took them 25 mins to sort it out.

Everything is back to normal here so Tesco had no milk :p

I agree with Rainmac about cards - we're already doing a donation to our local hospice instead of cards at work so will add some postage to it :D

Just been watching this weeks Corrination Street episodes Oh my goodness that was exciting :D

However I am now even more behind in my card making, luckily OH is going out tonight so I might get a few things done. I knew there was a reason I shouldn't tidy my craft room as I have lost my pretzel bags, see it's sometimes easier to find things in a mess

Most of the snow is melting here now, the hammering sound must have been the snow melting as it has now stopped, will try and catch up on blogs tonight or tomorrow

Liz good new about your OH
Dragonllew was your hubby interview today? hope it went well

Rainmac my oldest son worked for Abbey/Santander on Credit Card Debt he left in 2007 cos he was in danger of having a nervous breakdown. We have banked with GIRO/ Alliance & Leicester now Santander since we got married 36 years ago and never had any trouble at all, maybe a few miner blips that were sorted straight away but since October they have been nothing but trouble and don't seem to have a system in place for getting this problem sorted.

Likewise we have just been into the O2 shop, I have a touch screen phone which is a pain (LG) and DH said I could have a new one for Christmas so I chose a Nokia with a QWERTY keypad, nothing fancy just for calls and texts. I also have a contract for Simplicity (calls and texts) £10 per month, so just needed to buy the phone at £79.95 then the assistant said I had to pay another £10 for a pay and go card so that they could register the phone, He said I could give away the £10 credit to somebody as I wouldn't need it myself because I have my contract  When I said no chance I only want to buy the phone they suddenly didn't have any in stock!!! Probably didn't want to deal with a boshy woman lol Now I have seen it I will just buy one online and register it myself!

Tomsmom - I know what you mean about instruments. I have always wanted to play something, maybe thats why I encourage DD to play. She seems to have a talent for it when she puts her mind to it.

Wifey - hope you have a good weekend

Flourgirl - Hope your credit card gets sorted soon. You dont realise how much you use it until its not there.

Hi Jinksy - welcome to the thread

PepPop - That hot chocolate looks gorgeous, would love one!

Rainmac - hope the cold feels better soon

Finally caught up with the thread. Working alot at the moment, so dont really have time to catch up much. Hopefully it will be a bit quiter after Christmas. I agree with not sending cards, I havent had time to make all my family ones, never mind friends.

The clarinet is now here and already been played quite a bit and the saxophone keeps being played too. The thing is she wants everyone to hear and plays as loud as she can! But its great to have someone musical in the house.

Addams its our debit card and current account that has the problem, and everytime we make a payment we have an automated phone call from the fraud department asking us to ring and confirm payments.

Hello ladies! Just a quickie from me.

Had a pretty grim day, so far, MIL admitted to hospital this morning with chest infection so have spent all day between there & her house and am suposed to me meeting my family for a get together tonight. Do I feel like going out? NO but the excuse for a drink is worth it.

Wanna B - :j:jlovely pink envelope waiting when we got home. Thank you very much lovely lady.

Dragonllew - hope DH's interview went well.

Lizalloareds - glad your DH has had a reprieve.

Flourgirl - hope you get your bank sorted out very soon, sadly it doesn't even seem worth threatening to take your business elsewhere 'cos they don't usually care and there's not a lot better out there either.

I'm quite relieved that I'm not the only one who wont be able to get it together to send out Christmas cards to you all which I'd really love to do. I'm so very sorry. We all have our different reasons why we cannot achieve this but I am certain that our real MSE friends will understand and the rest don't matter.......can you tell I'm feeling a bit emotional ..........
  • Marg - big hugs - sounds like you need them more from what you've not said IYKWIM.

Thanks Flourgirl You've made my mind up to switch from O2 - I have an upgrade due but the phone I want is far too expensive from them and their contracts are expensive too - will now vote with my feet or should that be ears :rotfl:

Much more melty here today - will be able to get to my mothers - she's just told me she'll see me about 2 o'clock tomorrow - wonder how she knows what time I'm leaving, what the traffic will be like and how long it'll take me to travel the 160 miles..................... :o
