    Hi Bunbun, Scatty & Wishfulcomper

Well I spent a couple of hours at work on weather conferences, yawn!, the North East will get snow from tonight, with apparently the rest of us getting a 'dusting' :D later in the week, next week they reckon might be worse everywhere.....

Need to get some stuff done so will try and persuade OH to play on the PS3 otherwise will catch up tomorrow, 6 days off with 3 days free for crafting yipee

OH made me eat peas with my tea last night - I don't really do a) veg without a proper roast dinner or b) green food. Unfortunately neither do my teeth as I am now half a one short. It's not hurting just feels odd so when can I get in at the dentist.............................7th December................ wouldn't mind so much but I'm private :o. The receptionist said if it starts hurting ring back and we'll double book you with someone

Oh no, I seem to be rant mode now........

& son complained of toothache right at the beginning of August. Rang dentist to be told 1st appointment was 20 somethingth of OCtober! Tried to explain that it was child and that the dentist had said on his previous visit there was a small hole that needed to be watched but the receptionist was having none of it.
We managed to get to October and when I took Tom in, the dentist looked at me with disgust and asked why I'd not brought him in sooner! He has 2 teeth with holes in - she put temp fillings in but next available appointment for proper filling was Mid december! Those temp fillings have been in and out ever since so I flipped my lid a few weeks ago and the dentist admitted that she might not be able to do the filling anyway as it was complicated (so we might have got to December before her deciding that )
He was referred to hospital about 3 weeks ago - I've been ringing to chivvy them along and was told to wait for a letter - which I did - the letter just said to ring them for an appointment.
Did this Monday - apoointment 15th December but on checking this was just for assessment not treatment.
That was the straw that broke the camel back - I rang back and asked to speak to the appointments manager - got an appointment this afternoon!
Poor boy now has to have 2 teeth removed - they're baby ones so it's not a disaster but could have been avoided. At present he was one with filling and one without because the temp filling fell out again yesterday.
Earliest appointment for extraction was 4th January but after a bit of judicious prompting I've managed to get it brought forward to 9th January.

Sorry for the rant but it makes me SOOOOO CROSS!!!!

I know- the best of it is that I complained to the receptionist who originally refused him appointments as she tried to say it was nothing to do with her - told her in no uncertain terms that it was! She said she had to check something and call me back - when she did she said "and I've looked back over the records - it wasn't me who you originally spoke to" I apologised immediately whilst being 99% sure she was lying - she said "I think so too you owe me an apology! - it was such and such you spoke to"
I spoke to the practice manager about it a couple of weeks ago and she checked back for me - it was definitely that same receptioninst who had rung me specifically to lie to me and make me apologise to her . I've left that one with the practice manager to deal with - cheeky moo!
  • Thanks everyone for the Hello's,and Marg its nice you missed me posting thank you xx

TomsMum - Very cross with the NHS on your behalf - I'm beginning to think that we would be better without it - as long as they cut taxes and have some form of free insurance cover for those who can't afford it.
My Granny has been in and out of hospital for most of this year now - she's 85 and last week she was supposed to be being discharged Friday lunchtime. she waited and waited around all day - they came to her bed at 11.30 PM !!!!!!!Yes quarter to midnight and said they were ready to move her!!! She told them where to go and went back to sleep. Serously - what were they thinking?? (apart from the obvious - wanting the bed for someone else).
No crafting for me again - I have an interview tomorrow and have to prepare - only found out about it Monday afternoon.
Keep up the good work - I might have to buy some Christmas cards from some of you at this rate ;-)

That is awful about both your granny and your DS!! I am afraid I am one of these people who will speak my mind, and will demand appointments immediately, if I don't get one I threaten to turn up at Xoclock and sit there until i am seen ... hope you get things sorted soon!
