It seems to be so difficult to get past the rotweiller on the desk although I can honestly say I've never had a problem with either the drs or the hospital here.
We had a little bit of snow earlier but it's stopped again now - guess this isn't Paul at the moment Rusty?
And another freebie here Bear alert!
Sorry padster, but how on earth did peas make your tooth fall apart? am really confused here! :rotfl:
Peppop will reply in a mo, thankyou xxx
OAP, fingers crossed for you!
Rainmac thanks xxx
Right .... before I forget again ...
PONR, Rainmac, ScattyJan & Gemm - There will be parcels in the post for you tomorrow, I think I forgot to put in notes in a couple of them as I wanted them in the post today, but had hassle with kids after school!! ... tomorrow definately! Sorry they have took so long to PONR, ScattyJan & Gemm! better late than never! Rainmac yours is for your birthday, no peeking!
And secondly ... I need to think of cards to OH from the kids for christmas ... not sure what to make? should I keep it simple and do a snowman or something? or should I make it cute and cuddly? any help appreciated!! or even pictures of what I could try and recreate!
Just had a phone call from OH, he braved the roads again and made it safely back to work .... his bike is now in the shelter under the CCTV and will stay there for the forseeable (how do I spell that?) future! hoping he can get a train tomorrow or friday, or possibly a lift!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Been out for a meal with the girls (not one under 50!)
Rusty glad to hear that Paul is safe, if not home with you, and hope he gets home tomorrow - things may ease overnight.
OAP - hope you manage to get out for your winter provisions.
DTB - I'm at a loss to know what to say about the NHS and the layers of admin that seem to exist to prevent treatment, I thought there were time limits now, (they never breach the 4 hr rule in Casualty). You'd think that they'd deal more quickly with children wouldn't you?
Padster I'd be tempted to phone each day asking for a cancellation.0 -
Snowy morning to you all
... not much more here overnight, and its warming up so very slushy on the roads! thank goodness as I have to head out to get new tyres on the car whilst DD is at nursery!
I rescued the thread from page 2!!
Thanks Marg ... looking like Friday he will be home! not sure how bad it was up there over night? and the bike may well end up staying up there for the winter ... just need to steal the keys so he can't use it whilst it is up there!
Time to get coats/gloves/hats on for the school runRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty Our Aberdeen manager is down here this morning. He said the Aberdeen - Perth - Glasgow road is clear just now. Our van is away up that way, it went first thing, so I'll keep you posted.
Hope you're all having a great Thursday - I really need to get my finger out and finish my Christmas Cards. I'm hoping for a quiet day here today so I can get myself a bit more organised.0 -
Hi all,Theres a lovely free gift with this months papercraft inspirations, its a little booklet, with papers and decoupage of Forever friends,so if your into bears, this should be up your street.
The booklet contains 10 double sided papers and 10 decoupage designs ,and 21 greetings suitable for every occasion. the paper is quite a good quality, quite thick, but I did put the decoupage images on another layer of card,as I like my decoupage to stick out
I made 2 last night, they are on my thingy,if you would like a look .
Will read thread later,
hugs to all who need them.

Morning all on this cold snowy day - very unusual for us to get snow here. We woke up to snow but as the sun is shining at the moment it's melting on the roads and paths.
Thanks again for all your good wishes. DS came home last night (d-i-l had to drive through a snowstorm on the way to fetch him). He was bleeding from the oesophogus and the blood was pooling in his stomach. They've given him medication to heal the oesophogus and are weaning him off the ibuprofen. I wonder what they will do about his pain in the meantime then until his op which hasn't been brought forward. Stupid so and so has gone back to work today although d-i-l says he is sweating like mad. You can't tell him, he just doesn't want to let people down. Hope he's not coming down with anything else now.
DH had his scan yesterday and also they made him a mask/shield thing ready for when he has his radiotherapy. Not sure if this is because it's neck and chest area or whether everyone has this. It's a sheet of plastic type stuff they soften then mould over your face and chest (with holes for nose and mouth so you can breath!). This has to be fitted on every time he has radiotherapy. He also went through some measuring procedure so that he is in the exact right place every time he has the treatment 'cos you can't move, the radiotherapy has to target the exact place every time.
Next week's scans will double check everything to make sure nothing has changed and then there will be a dry run with the shield and other measurements then treatment will start next Thursday.
Blimey, don't know whether we're coming or going here!
Rusty Glad to hear Paul got to work safe and sound.
It's terrible to read all these stories of the NHS (and dentists). Definitely too many chiefs!
Right, got to get Poppy to groomers then get organised to clear everything up for DD's visit tomorrow. If you don't see me on here over the next few days it's because we're having a little mini Xmas with her.
Keep warm and safe, hugs to all.0 -
