So that's a 50 quid cap. Worth it for any BT of 2,500 or above....
The Yorkshire Bank card ain't MBNA either, it's through the Coop.... Now you know you ain't got one of their cards!0 -
My Virgin 0% ends in August, so I have just applied online for the Natwest one. BLIMEY!! Literally took 30 seconds! Sometimes they have to get back to you, but how EASY waS THAT?? fORGOT TO SAY; was accepted straightaway."When you want something said, ask a man.

That's great.
When I applied for natwest last week, got a letter saying i had to send a proof of address.
Quite irritating considering I have been at my address for 20 years with a number of cards/accounts et al.
Hope they give a good limit as their offer looks good0 -

May give it a try - already had a Natwest BT to Barclaycard and need to find one of the the RBoS group - may also try Alliance & Leicester.0 -
I am so upset and clueless as to what to do next. I have three credit cards at the moment and wanted to balance transfer onto the m and s card and then just have the american express card for the odd spend but i've just been turned down for the m and s card. I didnt think my credit rating was bad and i just dont know what to doMerry Christmas MSE!0

Hi I'm new to the forum but not to the fantastic site. I've just begun tarting and been accepted like Boofy above for a Nat West credit card in seconds. I have £9000 to transfer from Virgin (MBNA) but only got £5400 - which is fine (I've read Martin's articles). Question is the other long term 0% deal is RBS which owns Nat West - do I apply there for the remainder or will this be a wasted application?
If it will be, should I opt for a 9 month card like Buy & Fly? I have a tiny Capital One Card at £80 outstanding so I'm not sure whether to clear it and apply for their May 08 cards - I don't think you can ring and ask for deals (?)
My other thought was the M&S Card as a back up - though I only want to apply for a max. of 3 cards as Martin recommends.
Any advice would be very welcome and thanks again to everyone who has contributed to such a great site.0 -
Just phoned Halifax One to cancel my visa card but first tried to see what they could offer.
My card was originally a 0% for 12 months (£8K limit), but this ran out in January of this year.
I'm just in the process of closing my cards I don't use, in rediness of a card shuffle later this year. I have one (small balance) which ends it's 0% in October and another 0% (£5K balance) which ends in January 2008.
I currently hold 7 Credit cards
Barclaycard - [£10.7K limit] 0% Until October 2007 - £1.5K balance
HSBC Gold - [£8K limit] 0% Until January 2008 - £6K balance
Captial One - [£11K limit] 3.9% LOB - £2K balance
Cahoot - [£2K limit] 10.9% Standard Rate
Mint - [£4.3K limit] Standard Rate
Halifax One - [£8K limit] ?? Standard Rate
GE Money Card - [£2.5K limit] 18% Standard Rate but 3% Cashback on food & Petrol.
I also have access to an online flexible loan account. Which is there just incase I get caught short with any delayed/low credit limit card shuffling. The last time I used this loan account it was 6.9% APR.
Cahoot Flexible Loan [£8K limit] @ 14.9% - £0 balance
I was trying to get Halifax to offer me a £1.5K balance transfer from my Barclaycard on a 4.9% (or less) LOB with no fee's.
After much hagling, the best he could come up with was 5.95% LOB (with fees) or 0% for 5 months with 3% fee. Initially he offered a 6.49% LOB - I ended up letting him close the account.
I will also be closing my Cahoot Credit card, as I haven't used it in well over a year and probably my Mint card. Although I use the Mint card as backup in case the GE Money card gets rejected (4 times in 6 months  ).
My plan is to get a M&S more than card in September and transfer much of my 0% balances on to a 4.9% LOB No fees. Thats if they still offer them rates. I may also look at getting another 0%, 12 months card in December, probably Virgin (again).
[update] Just closed the Cahoot card. Now down to 5.0 -
I am wanting to borrow up £15,000 and for the next 12months I can only afford it at 0%. Having read all the advice on this site regarding 0% balance transfers, I am happy that I am on the ball and organised enough to become a balance transfer tart and as the amount I want to 'borrow' is large, it seems the 'Buy & Fly Mastercard' is the best, but I have some questions:
Am I likely to be able to get this amount of money or should I split the amount with my husband?
Could you clarify if I would have to pay the monthly minimum payment (at 3% on £15,000 this is alot!)
Would I get this amount of money with an Egg Money account?
Many Thanks

Re Capital One's latest offer: 0% on Purchases and BT until May 08. 1.7% fee for BT.
I and my wife have both applied for this card, neither of us didn't wanted to BT. Wife works part time, I am retired. Cards arrived yesterday, both got £6K limit !
Good one !0 -
