I think for short term loan and for small amount of 5000 pound, you can find 5% or maby 6% interest rate at you local bank. Because of the small amount the interest rate should be low.
I once took a similar loan at my local bank. Now I know that I did pay 1% more than I could get in other place, but it was quick - so it was worth paying 50 pound more.

Hope I helped you and you found it useful.

Default Can I switch A&L loan to credit card?

Hi,
I need some advice. I have a personal loan with Alliance and Leicester & I am considering the "card trick" to transfer it to either a 0% or fixed rate balance transfer card. I have read the article (concerning the egg card account) & was just wondering if I can pay the loan off using my A&L credit card & then balance transfer this to another card? Or does it have to be done via the egg route?

Red face advice on short term loan using 0% balance transfer

I am wanting to borrow up £15,000 and for the next 12months I can only afford it at 0%. Having read all the advice on this site regarding 0% balance transfers, I am happy that I am on the ball and organised enough to become a balance transfer tart and as the amount I want to 'borrow' is large, it seems the 'Buy & Fly Mastercard' is the best, but I have some questions:

Am I likely to be able to get this amount of money or should I split the amount with my husband?

Could you clarify if I would have to pay the monthly minimum payment (at 3% on £15,000 this is alot!)

Would I get this amount of money with an Egg Money account?

Many Thanks

I don't think the local bank is the ultimate solution, come one, you got the internet on your side. $5000 is not such a big sum, I don't think you will find any trouble getting this loan, the only problem you should take care of is finding the best offer.

I have read about these loans and I am interested in finding out if these loans are available for Central European countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia Ukraine and others in the region and how would it be possible for us to get an online loan.

Thumbs up additions direct

yes got my bill today and my daughter owes £873.57 i want to get a Loan to pay this off.as you said there is cheaper Loans out there will try credit union first as she pays very little of it, i have sent email to oft to see if they can charge these APR rates they say it is flexable account, what has happened to the old fashioned club,my mum could not afford a lot years ago so she had the club, which she used for our xmas presents i think we should not use the additions direct to order , boycott it and they will not get any buisness, i will let all my friends know and report them to cab and go from there.

Default New Cards on the block?

There appear to be a rash of new cards available e.g. virgin, capital one, mnba variants, that offer 0% transfers to bank current account with only 3% arrangement fee. The 0% lasts between 12-15months. By using these cards is the egg card trick obsolete, or am I missing something?

Default How do I get a short term interest free cash loan into my bank account?

Hello, I am in need of some advice. I have a car on finance over 5 years ending in November 2012 & want to pay the balance on the finance off to save me money, I want to pay it off at the end of february, but to do this I am a little short on my savings at the moment. I would need an extra £2000 to pay it off, I was looking at getting a £2000 interest free short term loan for possibly 10 months as I know I could pay it off in this period. How do I go about doing this? and what are my best options here? I was looking at the possibility of getting a 0% interest free balance transfer card like the Abbey Balance Card, Mint Card or Egg Card? But is this possible to transfer money from these cards into my bank account?Could you advise me on this please??

Red face Need credit advice

Hi!!
I am new to this forum, so I hope I am asking the right questions on the correct page.
I am trying to finance my studies and I have securred an 8K Career development loan already, which I will only have to pay off 2 months after I have finished my studies, which is fine.
However, I have still a gap of £ 6000, and I need to find a way how to pay this. My initial idea was to put it onto a 0% Purchase Credit Card for 12 months, but I'd still need to pay off 3% of the over all amount, while being a student and not really earning money. Also, I would not be able to pay off all the £ 6000 by the time the 0% deal is running out, since I would still be a student for a further 2 months or so.
Would any CC Company give me credit on a 0% Balance Transfer Card , while still being a student?
Any ideas? Advice would be REALLY appreciated.

Many Thanks
