    I've been Money Tipped!
monkey - do you not get bored with the car shops?

I've just completed 1 circuit. One shop I was waiting at the desk for 40 minutes whilst no one talked to me as she was in the office sourcing the car. This morning it took 90 minutes and he did none of the flannel, just worked hard to get the best price. I felt really bad knowing I would never contact him again.

Not sure I'll do another - mind you, that all depends on whether company pays or not!

  • Wouldn't have thought so, as it will need to be reshopped. You could try phoning them and offer to reshop

Woohoo, a nice MS company! They have said they can still use the report so all is fine. Will go out of my way to do a few more of them now :j:T

They are good, I applied for one for them a couple of months ago with a bonus. Later looking at the address I realised it was a retailer's distribution warehouse rather than store. When I contacted them they paid me the full fee + bonus rather tahn a reduced 'closed shop' fee. !

Yes, wasn't it £12.50 Monkey boy?

    Just kidding!!

Monkey makes a living out of pretending to buy cars. :)

I bet there was a flight amongst all of that too.

Yes, indeed...almost bought a new one as well at one of them...got offered a cracking deal!!

Winding down for Christmas now though. Don't have anymore work at all booked in until Jan 2011 as it stands now, but I'm happy with that...the last 2 or 3 months have been manic.

It is pretty boring work, but it's easy and fairly paid. Key thing is to ring ahead and tell them you're going to be there in X minutes and can they ensure someone is ready to see you as you don't like waiting around.

Be assertive (bordering on aggressive if you need to be!) - works for me! If a car visit takes me more than an hour then it's a bad day!

Its not that they don't serve me, they just take my details and go and disappear off in an office for 40 minutes to "secure the car".

Best one of the circuit, I didn't even sit down. I was out in 10 minutes. He saw I just wanted the best price so he gave it me and didn't bother seeing if he could find a car to go with it!

Rough with the smooth I know, but 4 garages in this circuit was enough for me I think!

Me too!! In fact I was wondering about passing the brochure onto FIL as we were all suprised at the price of a funeral  Every time I am assured that I can plan it all and pay it over several years, not bad considering they go up by about £250-£300 a year ............

At least I am not the only one :rotfl:

My friend bought one and used her M&S credit card and got points with that too!

I do think it takes a "certain kind of person" (interpret that how you will) to do the car jobs regularly, some love them, some hate them. Same with most jobs I guess. TNS supermarket jobs, some love them, i hate them (well, don't see them worthwhile but I'll not split hairs).
