You could talk to your pharmacist about stronger painkillers than paracetamol and ibuprofen!

I hope your feeling a bit better too!

Ive been taking 2 ibuprofen & 2 parecetamol all at the same time every 4 hours & up until last night that was ok. It doesn't seem to be touching the sides now

I might nip to the pharmacy in Boots tomorrow before work otherwise I'm going to be a moaning minnie all day at work :o

I'm soooooooo glad you I read the post about not putting heat on it - someone told me to do that today & I've just been considering it

One day I'm going to hunt that person down and hit him with a big stick! He comes round our way as well!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I've suffered with severe toothache on and off for a couple of years despite regular trips to the dentist, he removed 3 teeth before finding the problem, I've also had abscesses and dry socket.

The only thing I found could even touch the pain was codydramol painkillers which my doctor was happy to prescribe for me. Failing that i used Tylex which I believe is the same but a stronger dose, they can be addictive but I used them carefully only when needed. antibiotics and regular paracetamol were useless, ibuprofen was some help.

I also found some moderate relief holding an ice pack to my face.

Hope it gets better soon, there's nothing worse than toothache.

It's safe to take with Ibuprofen but not with paracetamol as there's paracetamol in codydramol and then you would be overdosing.

My antibiotics finished yesterday and I am going back on Thursday to have the tooth out.

I've just been back to the dentist. :(

I had the injections in my mouth to numb it but I could still feel pain when she wiggled my bad tooth.

She put a different type of anaesthetic around the bad tooth with a sort of pen injection. She said they dont like using it because it can cause damage but as the tooth was coming out it was ok.

    BUT that didn't work either.

I've been given another course of antibiotics with strict instructions not to touch alcohol or I'll be very sick and I'm going back on Wednesday to have it out.

    3rd time lucky !!

And I've got a couple of pain free hours now until the anaesthetic wears off - see, there's always a positive side :rotfl:
