Yeah, I meant the kids. I was a child bride as well, first full term sproglet at 22. No mortgage at the mo, but working on it. What's the plans for the weekend?

we didnt hear many at all last night so either people cant afford to do them or maybe it will be like the blitz tonite instead.
well done on getting extra cash out of the kids, it would cost them loads more to live somewhere else. Had a minor victory with DD too. she went off for a moan with grandad about me asking for 'HER' money and was very quickly sorted when my dad explained how lucky she had always been and how difficult times are for everyone. I think the clincher came when he told her when he was working full time at her age he had to hand over all his wages to his mother and was only allowed pocket money out of it!!!!!
She came home and offered to pay for her monthly £10 phone contract, pay for extra clothes that i class as non esential and either take sandwiches 2 days a week to college or pay for her own lunch 2 days a week. May not be huge but we are off and walking down the right road now. (and she is speaking to me again). Im sure she will start to appreciate her money more eventually.
Have someone coming to view the pony again tomorrow so got all my bodily parts crossed. Hope you managed to get the horses feet sorted-i often think the horses get more treatments than us!!
Had a coffee with my old work mates this morning......all for free (i called in whilst they were on breaktime at work), looking very gloomy they are council workers and they have been told around 50% are to lose their jobs. at present they dont know who. so thinks not good . nice to see them and catch up.
taken some chicken out of the freezer and will turn into the domestic goddess this evening- trying my hand at Nige*las chicken and chorizo bake thingy. she made it lat week on tv.
loads of jobs need doing but feeling abit down and gloomy thinking about the girls loosing their jobs and cant get going again.sealed pot member no :081

Been a dismal afternoon, although the morning was sunny. Farrier chatted for ages, seems everyone is worried about the future.
Got the shopping done this morning. I seem to be spending more, the more i try to spend less...alot of it will last a while though. It included a tin of chocolates for £4 towards Xmas tho.
GG's now have neat feet. Farrier said it would be ok to ride barefoot off road once a week, so will try next w/e. Took rugs off as not supposed to rain over the weekend and moved their electric fencing.
I paced out what is left of the rested grazing and should be able to make it last until xmas or maybe Jan if i reduce it even more. The girls are looking a bit plumper this week so i might!
One of the other girls in the main livery field asked when the farmer was going to start putting the hay out and worryingly he said he wasn't this year as only had enough hay for his cows! I bought some hay at the end of the summer when it was cheaper but only have 28 bales left. Lucky for me my girls are good doers and a lean winter will probably do them good. The poor girl who asked has a shire who is already losing weight. One farmer is advertising hay at £10 a small bale already, so i am glad I am not feeding her horse!
When I got home DD was asleep on the sofa, she has had this cold and cough for weeks now and is really pale. We sat and had a nice chat, which is unusual for us as she is usually out with her friends. Made me feel all cosy
Couldn't be bothered to go back out again so spent the afternoon cooking..now have bacon and tomatoe risottto, using the last of the summer's tomatoes, and spicy pea soup in the freezer, for lunches this week.
Have also just taken my first attempt at bread rolls out of the oven, they are a bit flat and crusty but it does look and smell like bread, will taste them once they have cooled a bit. If they taste ok i will invest in some bread tins to make loaves
Off to make Bolognese now for tea before Merlin comes on.....must take photos of the Hampster thingy to put on ebay tonight as well...Debt at LBM 2010 £40,640.17. Debt Free 2017 Debt 2023 £24k I didn't learn! NEW Goal Debt and Mortgage Free Jan 2025.

well you are way ahead of me on the ebay front- iam always going to have a go at setting it up and startig selling things but havent done it yet.
we dont shoe our horse either, she not ridden much at present and always on grass so at least that saves some cash. Just nail clipping and now the farrier has said to leave her 12 weeks instead of six over the winter between clipping and she should be fine , so we will see how it goes. We get hay in with the livery price so no extra there ,she is out in grass fields all day and large hay net at nite, in winter if its too bad to go out they are given several nets a day . some times the fields get very muddy around here. well the person coming to view her as yet to arrive so iam getting really fed up with this now. people have no manners if they have decided not to come why cant they text or give a quick ring.
Lamb casserole here tonite with home grown veggies and yorkshire pud. i have a bread maker but dont like the shape so i use it to mix the dough when i make bread then i stick it in the oven. There are some nice recipes on the grocery thread for different breads , tried a few before and my lot like the tortillas, easy to make for a few pence and they are much nicer than the shop ones too.
did you make the jam?
and hows the diet going? my head is hung in shame............but i have been for a good walk today.sealed pot member no :081

Well I weighed myself on the tempermental bathroom scales and think I've lost 2lb so down to 12stone.

Made the jam. I don't like all the blackberry pips So after stewing the fruit seperately I sieved them out and then mixed the blackberrys and apple. I then cooked it with the suger and pectin. Boiled it for 5 mins and did the test on a cold plate and it looked like it was setting. I checked it this morning but it is really still abit too runny for sandwiches. Sort of a runny honey texture. Was nice on my cereal tho LOL! don't think I'll lose much weight this week!
Have got 4 jars from 1.5lb fruit so will be in jam for a while
and still have another 1lb of blackberrys left.
Also tried to make the Bacon and onion pudding but was unsure if it would keep it's shape if cut into 1/4s and frozen so i used the pastry and made a bacon/onion swiss roll thingy which was lovely. Have cut this into slices and have enough for another 2 meals in the freezer
Also got another 4 x 8 foot bed dug at the allotment
so all together a good w/e.
Am taking some peas soup and a HM bread roll to work for lunch. Nice and warming in this weather!Debt at LBM 2010 £40,640.17. Debt Free 2017 Debt 2023 £24k I didn't learn! NEW Goal Debt and Mortgage Free Jan 2025.

:jyah.....well done you, keep it up . think ive probably stay:jed the same again because i dont:j feel any different but we will see after wednesday. i just have to keep trying (least while i am trying im not getting any fatter!;)).
Well must admit the only thing i have done is pick the veggies on sunday nothing else. i did slice and blanch a load of carrots and freeze and pickle some red cabbage for xmas and had another batch of leek soup, but no planting or digging at all. still loads of apples so might try my hand at drying some and a few more pies but thats not helping the diet much:mad:
weather a total wash out here, sides of the roads have huge standing puddles and its freezing too (which is no good for me heating bill). May have to go out tonite to cheer myself up a bit. have a small amount of the budget allocated to xmas gifts so may go on a browsing session and take my list to keep my spending in check. I will only buy what i need...i will...i will:rotfl:
can you tell im enjoying playing with the smilies today....:p
must do this weeks meal plan and to do list or i will swan around instead of getting on with things.............whats on your list this week ?sealed pot member no :081
