Water, water water.........peppermint tea throughout day

Breakfast : 3 rashers of bacon 3 sausages fried mushrooms
Lunch : Smoked Salmon filled with Philladelphia Lamb's Lettuce
    Dinner :
3 skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch chunks
    about 200mls double cream
    a savoy cabbage
    butter & oil
nutmeg (ideally whole, for grating/grinding but I expect ready ground would be fine)
    black pepper and sea salt
Use a deepish saute pan (or maybe a wok). Its important to have a close fitting lid, and use a medium flame for gentle cooking.
Melt butter and add dash of oil. Chuck in the chicken, and once sealed fry gently for about five minutes, turning every now and then. While its cooking, finely shred the cabbage taking out the hard stalky centres of the leaves.
Add a little water (around a medium wineglass full)to the pan to make some steam, throw the cabbage on top in a thick layer, grind black pepper and finely grate nutmeg on top (don't be scared to use quite a bit - its the key to the dish). Then clap the lid on to allow the cabbage to steam on top of the chicken. After a few minutes it will be bright green and tender.
Add the double cream to everything in the pan, allow it to briefly bubble, but don't overdo it as it may curdle. Add a little sea salt.
Now eat straightaway - with creamy mashed spuds for the family, and on its own but with loads of the cabbage for me. I probably wouldn't add any other veg as the flavours seem perfect like this.
Its pretty too - creamy and green, and really fragrant

    Am loving this 'diet' :j

Beans and toast for breakfast then out piggin' for lunch: shoulder of lamb with red wine sauce, mash and veggies followed by huge cheeseboard! Yum! Just managed a punnet of raspberries for supper. Copious amounts of Sauvignon Blanc to help it down.:o

Tikka sounds good, if it works can we have the recipe?

I'm trying to up my salad intake too. I must admit to buying those bags of mixed leaves as I find basic lettuce so boring, not very MSE but at Lidl's prices not too bad. I'm planning to try and grow some in the summer so I can just pick a selection.

Ummmm....there isn't really a recipe as such...I searched on BBC Good Food for a likely looking one, and then adapted....! :o

The marinade is from HERE but I didn't have some bits.....and forgot one of the others. :o:o

    Hi Guys,

At work so have to be quick ;)

    Hope everyone is ok?

Marru honey so sorry to hear you are down, but I think you are doing the best thing by having a week off.

At least you know the symptoms and its better to catch it early than to wait and then have a much longer period of sickness.

I hope you feel much stronger soon xxxxxxxxxx

Its my birthday soon and I am deliberating as to what I should have?

Since Mr Budgie was out of work we haven't had the money re: presents so I am having an extra big present :)

I am looking into a sun ancon chi machine and I have posted a request on Health and Beauty MSE.

I shall see if anyone replies?

Have a good Saturday all and I shall be back laters.

    Oh and didn't Moyle's do well :j

    Hugs Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning Diners

    Hope everyone is oK?

    Many missing at the mo.

    Well butternut squash soup on.

Potatoes and veg prepared for later. Chicken breasts stuffed with goats cheese and wrapped in pancetta done.

Salad for tomorrow done, used some courgettes too as need using up.

    All organic ingredients too :)

No replies to my request for info on the chi machine. It costs around £460 but people are raving about it.

    I am hooked ;)

Oh and I need rebalancing desperately........................

Off to clean up now, see you all later. (Hopefully)..................
