Where is this online statement to be found? I can't see it, only "transaction details"0 -
Like i say,i am totally sick to the back teeth of NatWest,i dont honestly care anymore what the rate is.Not only have they done this to me before, they also did exactly the same with my e.isa.To be honest i do not trust a word they say anymore,i have lost total confidence in them.I am no longer prepared to waste my time and effort, trying to find out whether or not,i have been duped.0

On the Summary page there is a link for statements on the left. This lists transactions through the previous period in the format of a printed statement. I couldn't find any interest information though other than "available on request".0 -
So much conflicting stuff on the Natwest esaver that now even I am concerned as to whether this bonus account I opened will actually be getting the bonus or whether they have messed up and we are only getting the basic 1%
They pulled it very quickly, did they realise they were offering too much or something?
They pulled it at 5.00 pm probably because they found out or guessed that Martin Lewis would be telling everyone about it on his TV programme at 7.30pm that evening.
That's the downside of TV programmes like that and websites like this. When a good rate is offered, instead of a steady stream over an extended period as savers gradually find out about it, they get an avalanche of applications and the offer is pulled.
The same happened with a BM account a while ago when they were so overwhelmed that it took weeks before applications were acknowledged and deposit cheques cashed.
The bank/BS will only take the level of deposits they initially planned so the net result is that no more savers actually get the accounts and it's just more chaotic. I'd assume it's becoming a real problem for them and important that they're careful not to offer over-generous deals that cause them to be swamped.0 -
I managed to find the online interest rate tab for my eSavings account (opened on 19th and funded on 24th October). It appears as a separate tab when selecting the online statement for the period 24th to 30th October. It says I'm earning 1.81% gross - ie. the bonus but not the basic 1% !! Whereas the interest actually credited is at 1% (ie. basic but no bonus).
So it would seem that NatWest do indeed have another IT problem (as apparently acknowldeged/noted earlier in this thread). I have no doubt it will be resolved in due course - and interpret the reference to the bonus rate on my online statement as confirmation that I will get the bonus. But when is another matter.0 -
I thought I'd give the NatWest live-chat a go. The response was:
"If you applied for the e-savings between 18th Oct and 30th Oct I can confirm you will get the bonus rate of interest. This is a problem which has been reported and many other customers have had the same. We are working hard to resolve this and I have been told you will get the bonus interest added within the next 5-7 days."0 -

I don't have any such tab.charlieboycat wrote: »I thought I'd give the NatWest live-chat a go.
And never seen any live-chat anywhere on their site.
Surely they haven't got different systems for the same accounts for different customers?0 -

Actually they seem to have different systems for the same accounts for the SAME customer. If I click on 'statements' in the left hand menu, select 'view bank statements', highlight my new eSavings account, hit 'next', highlight the statement period 24 Oct to 31 Oct, and hit 'view statement' I get a page with two tabs. It opens up on the 'your statement' tab, but I can select the 'interest' tab. However, if I go through the same process but select my old eSavings account I don't get two tabs - I just get the statement!
Live-chat is something one seems to get offered as a pop-up while/after using the "Got a question? We can help" utility.0 -

Yes, it is quite appalling that there is apparently no way of contacting whoever is in charge of the esaver accounts department, except by snail mail or by an 0845 number, and even then only once you have received a letter in the post. Very poor indeed.
