typical - Virgin media starts later - so I miss out on the only film I'd fancy - Gran Torino
Virgin Sucks
doesnt Branson have Virgin Movies up his sleeve??!0 -
Im sorry but have skimmed through these posts and i am confused please can someone clarify if you record on sky+ will they still be there after monday to watch at a later date and if they are will we be charged to watch them??
There are a few good films my children would like but have a busy weekend planned why oh why couldnt this of been on last weekend and then we could have spent half term watching movies at home!!!
Thank you xxx0 -
it is strange aint it, i would suppose that they are doing this to try and entice non subscribers to actually subscribe to the movie channels, you would think they would throw in a couple of blockbusters to show people what they would be getting, seeing that list of films certainly would not make me subscribe if i already didn`t
Totally agree with this, hardly enticing.

When i used this before, i recorded a film but couldn't watch the film after the weekend times were up. When the offer came around again i recorded a film and started to watch it but never got round to finishing it. After the weekend offer was up i was still able to watch it and finish so i might try that again this weekend and see if it works.
Sorry it's long winded and i hope it makes sense to you.Treat others how you would like to be treated.0 -
Re recording & watching later through Sky+: the last time Sky offered free movies, I recorded loads of films & when I tried to watch them after the free period had ended, I just got the usual blue box on screen advising me how to upgrade my subscription.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
Just a reminder to people trying to figure out how to record these movies to watch after this weekend -- if you have a dvd recorder or do it old school with vhs, use that.0
-
For those of us with sky+: Does anybody know if we would be able to record these films to enjoy at a later stage or would this just work on the day/weekend itself?
I doubt it, but worth a shot.
When I have subscribed to movies before I have copied the films from Sky+ onto a disc using my DVD recorder as there is a record facility on films, etc, you have recorded, other than this I don't know any other way to view once the subscription/free weekend screening is over.0 -

You can also tape straight to your dvd and skip using the sky plus box at all. Just tell the dvd recorder to record from whatever AV outlet the sky box is on, and then have the sky box autotune to the channel you want to record (or actually turn to that channel -- we set everything on timer record on the dvd recorder and autotune on the sky box). The tv doesn't have to be on, just the Sky box.
Your way may actually be easier, but our flat isn't wired for Sky+ to work properly so we have to use a dvd recorder all the time (we have one that lets us playback a program as it records, so it's a little like a dvr but not as convenient, lol). Our method might work for others in the same boat.0 -

We have freesat from Sky ( £20 for 5 years) & we do not seem to be getting this.
What is a subscriber exactly? (Just out of curiousity as I would have thought that by paying them for Freesat that should make you a subscriber or maybe I am missing something)0
